The take & toss sippies didn't QUITE work out

D figured out how to pick them up, and get them into his mouth pretty quickly once handles were out of the picture.

The problem is, he doesn't suck on it to get the liquid out. It took him about 2.5 seconds to discover that he can squeeze the cup to get it to come out the spout.

I've heard there are sippies with nipples to help the transition. Anyone know any brand names?

Re: The take & toss sippies didn't QUITE work out

  • The Tommee Tippe one I had was a transitional one and it had a nipple.  It was a valve sippy, so it took actual sucking effort to get water out.

My LO hated it and never really took to it.  We switched out to the Tilty cups and they have worked great.  She has even learned to pick it up on her own and put it in her mouth, and since it doesn't take that sucking effort as much, she can get the water much more easily.

NUK trainer cup.  That is what we use.

Eta:  the Trainer is 5-6oz...now we are using the NUK active cup 10ish oz

  • The Nuby (cheap ones at Walmart) were the ones that A finally figured out. It doesn't have an actual nipple, but the spout is made of silicone.

We have ones like that from Avent that I love. They never leak, come with a lid for on the go, and you can remove the handles and valve as LO gets older.
