Cosco car seat

I need a safe, but inexpensive carseat for my mom's car.  She picks Mila up from day care 1 day a week and I don't want to deal with the hassel of leaving my convertible seat for her.

The Cosco is $39.99.  It has decent reviews.  But it almost seems to good to be true.  Anyone have one?

Re: Cosco car seat

  • Yes, we did the same thing, we have one for DH's car.  We have it just so that he can take her out safely if needed.  My car, the family car, and the car DD travels in the most has a Britax.  We really don't mind it too much, DD doesn't seem to complain either, she likes it better than her infant seat.

It was kind of a PITA to install because it is just the bare bones but it works.  The padding isn't as soft either.

I would buy and get one again for the same purpose.

  • We used one for a few days when we had a rental car.  It wasn't bad.  I'm going on a week long trip in May and rather than risk breaking or losing K's current seat on the plane, I'm going to ship a Cosco one to our destination.

  • We put one in the ILs car, they take her once a week. If it's sold in the US markets, it's passed the safty tests. I honestly think the difference in price is for ease of use- our pricy ones were so easy to install & the process of clipping LO in is straight forward. The cheap one was a PITA to install, and you need to manuver a bit to get the chips done.

Long story short- it does the trick.

this. My MIL bought one for her car and I agree, it's not as padded as I would like.

  • It's fine. DD has one. She's 2 and now she is able to squirm her torso out of the straps. I think we need to upgrade to an actual 5 point harness for her, but the seat is great otherwise. The cupholders are a joke if you care about that.
