C-sections

Positive C-Section experience

Hi Ladies!

I had a c-section Feb 28 2012 and wanted to tell all of you going in for your first time that it wasn't nearly as bad as I had expected!!  It was painless..really!

The spinal hurt just a tad going in and then nothing.  It was all over in about 40 min.  Recovery wasn't bad either.  A pain in the but being hooked up to all the stuff but it was all taken off the next day.  Pain was about a 6 out of 10 but meds really helped.

I was SOOO nervous that I actually put myself into labor that morning...just wish I knew it was going to be fine.

: )

  • That was my experience last time too! They really aren't scary. My last one was my 3rd so I was really focused on seeing my baby and not at all on the c-section.

  • I am new to the C-Section Board, but my first CSection went fantastic. Of course I am a little nervous to go for surgery again, but if everything goes as well as my first one, I will be sooo happy! A good outcome on a C-Section does happen a lot more than people think!
  • I had a pretty great experience. It is no where near as bad as i was expecting, The only fear i had was based on the terrorizing from everyone about demanding natural birth plans only. I think since i went into the birthing experience with absolutely no birth plan, i had nothing to be disappointed with. I had a quick recovery, i got to do skin to skin, i got to hold him very soon. I was really sore, but have a nice scar and I am happy.

  • My experience was positive as well. I didn't understand why people were constantly telling me how much I'd regret it and how terrible it would be, etc. Afterwards...."that's IT???" Good grief. People were overreacting lol.

  • Mine wasn't bad either.  With my first I had a normal vaginal delivery with an epidural.  My c/s wasn't any worse than my vaginal delivery, there were just different pros/cons to each.  I was terrified of a c/s and it was all for nothing.  While I personally would never opt for a c/s over a vaginal delivery (since it's a major surgery) I wouldn't have any issue if my OB said that a RCS was the way to go.
