I'm going on 29 weeks as of Sunday, did anyone start having Braxton Hicks contractions this early? With my 1st daughter I was lucky enough not to have them at all, so feeling them now are like WTH is this and they are a little painful. They dont last but about 5 minutes maybe even 10 but when they come they feel like hours. Whew!!! What is some relief methods? I'm sure I wont be able to stop them but to ease them would be nice.
Re: Braxton Hicks
What she said...I feel like I've been getting them forever now...
This is my third baby and I started feeling them at 13 weeks. We all start having them at 6 weeks, but don't feel them because of the small size of our uterus and the fact that it's tucked behind our pelvis.
Women in subsequent pregnancies start to feel them sooner. As you get further along they will start to become more intense and last longer, second trimester BH only lasts seconds but none should ever last longer than a few minutes. In the third trimester they will be very uncomfortable... Drink a lot of water that always helps, and also practice breathing, sometimes your body can also benefit from a change in position so get up and walk around or sit down if your up when it happens...
I freaked out yesterday and posted here about BH..
I was getting them frequently and the baby was moving around like crazy..had a mini panic attack..lol..drank some water and walked around my office and that seemed to help..I hope they lighten up for you!

I never had them with my 1st either. In fact, I never even went into natural labor with him so I only have drug-induced contractions to compare anything to! My BH started over the weekend (34wks). They finally were uncomfortable enough that I called my doc yesterday. He said that as long as they're random, it's just the BH, not actual contractions. If they start to become 10-15mins apart, call back & they'll bring me in right away.
As for relief, I try to drink lots of water since I've read that helps. Other than that, I might try to change position or get up & walk around a little. I also push on my belly sometimes (kinna like rubbing out a charlie horse). Not sure if it actually helps or if it's a mental thing.
