Stringy bowel movements?

This might seem weird, but it just started happening yesterday and today. I'll have one normal bowel movement in the morning, and then in the afternoon I feel like I have to go so I'll go, but instead just a small soft piece comes out followed by stringy tan/ beige bowel movements. Has anyone had this before? Should I be worried? I started googling information and it started talking about polyps and worms, so I'm not quite sure that's it (at least I hope not!) It only happens once a day at least so far. Please let me know if I should be worried or not about this!

    Sounds like it may be a reaction to something you ate or your vitamins. If this odd BM is your only symptom it will be hard to diagnose as worms or polyps. Normally that will cause more symptoms such as itching, redness or even bleeding. At your next OB appt mention it, don't be shy either I tell my OB everything, it's how I learn :)

    I'll bet it's just a wonky BM day. Seriously, pregnancy does some crazy things to our bodies. Don't stress too hard. Push the water intake, maybe switch vitamins (prenatals with iron can cause constipation) and eat some more fiber! Good luck.

    Ditto.  Pregnancy hormones can make your digestive system go whacky.  Eat lots of fruits, veggies, grains, and drink lots of water.  Good luck with your pooper.

    Weird BM's are gonna happen, for sure. Make sure to keep up a diet with lots of fiber or include a fiber supplement like Citrucel. Also, drink lots of water! That helps a lot!
