DH was never keen on bed sharing, but did it because it meant so much to me. Now that DD is approaching one year, I plan to night wean to attempt to get fertility back. (I'd like to get pregnant ASAP.)
Since I won't be feeding her all night long, DH feels like it will be time to move V to her own space. I had hoped to maintain a family bed for a while longer, but I understand that he doesn't sleep well with her in our bed.
Any suggestions about how to transition her to her crib? Should we put her in a toddler bed instead? She'll be 10 months tomorrow and I'd like to have a plan in place.
Thank you!

Re: Transitioning from family bed
I agree with the pp suggestions. Another idea, you could put a mattress on the floor next to your bed.... this worked a bit for us, although I pretty much just used it put him to bed and let him come to our bed when he woke during the night.
Oh, and I tried a crib mattress on the floor,... not comfortable. I do like them as crash pads though.
To those who've put a mattress on the floor, at what age is it safe to do this? Did you have a safety gate up in the baby's doorway?
