may need to deliver at 32 weeks.

hi girls...i am looking for some support.  i am pregnant with twins and my growth scan today was a little scary.  baby A (boy) is right on track at 3 lbs 3 oz but baby B (girl) was only at 2.5 and i guess that is smaller than they want at this point and her placental blood flow is a tiny bit compromised.  so now along with steroid shots, i see the docs 2x a week to see what's going on.  if things don't change or improve they will want to get them out bc she will do better in the NICU than in the womb.  i assume these weights, while small are OK.  and i hope they only improve.  let me know your thoughts!! thanks!!

    I have had two preemies.  My first was born at 34 weeks and was 4 lbs, 10oz.  He was only in the NICU for 9 days.  My second was born at 29 weeks, weighing 3lbs, 4oz.  He was in the NICU for 43 days.  I was given the steroids the day before he was born and he did great.  He was on CPAP for days and then breathing on his own after that.  My boys were both just growers and feeders.  No major issues or setbacks.  It may be a long road ahead, especially with two in the NICU, but I can tell you from my experience that it will be okay.  Especially if they feel that they will do better being delivered early.  They will only do what's best for the babies.  Try to relax and stay calm.  Best of luck to you and your little miracles!  I hope they are able to stay in as long as possible.

    I am at 29 weeks and only a single baby, but I'm in the same boat as you. Not sure when I will deliver... I've been in and out of the hospital since 24 weeks. But my baby was only 1 pound 12 ounces at his last growth scan. I go for 3x/week Dopplers/ultrasounds and growth scans every 2 weeks. I'm just hoping to make it to 30 weeks at this point, but we'll see.

    It's scary, but at 32 weeks you're in very good shape! Best of luck!

    best of luck to you ...it's great that they are monitoring you so much ...right now i am 2x a week for dopplers etc. and every 2 for growth ...so we will see how long i can make it...i hope you hang in there as well!!!

    Due to preclampsia and the baby stopping in development, my sister in law had to be induced at 32 weeks.  They did shots for the baby''s lungs and back in November had a beautiful baby girl around 15 inches weighing only 3.1 lbs.  She left the hospital with her 1 week later and is doing great today having no additional complications :)

    I am sorry that you have to go through this!  I developed pre-eclampsia with my first daughter and had to have an emergency c-section at 32 weeks.  She weighed 3 pounds 10.8 oz and had to stay in the NICU for 1 month.  She is very healthy and I would never know that she was a tiny little preemie.  Best wishes to you.  It will all turn out great. Stay positive! :)
