I'm cheap... I always buy my stuff on Consignment, Craigslist or Yard sales. They grow to too fast to make a investment in clothing IMHO. I usually buy important stuff (special outfits for special occasions) at BonTon or JC Penny's. I recently got his Easter outfit at BonTon for a pretty good deal.

We are in 18 months... gasp. We get the majority of our clothes from Carters. They have great sales and you can use their 20% off coupons. They also have double stamp tuesdays where you fill your card up and can get $10 off your next purchase.

DD lives in clothes from H&M and now she's getting a lot of summer dresses made by me or my Mum, if you have a sewing machine you can run off a bunch of cute dresses super quick

I have been waiting on a sale at the fabric store so I can crank out some rompers and dresses cheap.

I get all her clothes from Carters and Target. Once in awhile I'll find something at Babies R Us or Buy Buy Baby and buy it. I combine coupons, go on double stamp day, shop sale racks, etc. so I never pay full price for anything but it's still probably more than consignment.
Consignment sales, much better quality and deals than consignment stores.
Yep, it's consignment season here, and I've found a lot of good items. However, our consignment stores are pretty good too, but you can find better brands at the sales at lower prices.
Marshalls and TJ Maxx are a good place to look, too.
I just recently discovered Once Upon a Child. I got some great looking clothes there for DD. I also really like Marshalls and also The Children's Place when they e-mail me coupons and have free shipping days on their website.
I'm fed up with Carters because a lot of the things I buy there, following along with their size guidelines, still don't fit DD. According to their size chart, she is supposed to wear size 12 months due to her height (she's still under the weight), but she's already about to outgrow almost all of her size 12 month clothes in that brand. Whereas in Children's Place, size 12 months is still large on her.

We thought this was going to be the case.... However, K is still wearing some 3-6 month stuff... All of her 6-9 month stuff...And hardly any 9-12 or 12 month stuff fits her. Crazy!
I get most of DS's clothes at Kohl's. They carry Carter's stuff for good prices, and their own Jumping Beans line has some cute and affordable stuff. I've also found some good deals at Old Navy though their stuff runs small (DS wears 9 and 12m stuff from Carter's and 12-18m stuff from Old Navy).

We live in Carter's stuff around here for the most part, but last week when it was warm, DS wore shorts from The Children's Place Monday (Size 6-9 months), BRU Tuesday (3-6 months), and Carter's Wednesday (12-18 months). I have decided they just throw all the tags in a bag and arbitrarily sew them onto baby clothing.

I agree! The tags mean nothing. DD wears clothes sized 6-24 months. The 24 month tees are a little big, but not huge as I had expected. My mom buys a lot of her clothes at outlet sales- mostly Carters and Osh Kosh. She buys ahead so some clothes are for the wrong season. Oh, well! She looks funny in Christmas themed pjs in March, but I don't care.
I've been getting a lot of stuff at Once Upon a Child and Kohl's.
The one in Minnetonka is good, but kind of packed and hard to sort through. Eden Prairie and Maple Grove seem to be better spaced and more organized.
Hey Fellow Minnesotan! Thanks for the local tip!
I don't love the EP one- since you're local, check out the BRU off 494! I just went there and cleaned up. The sale prices were the same as OUAC, but on new stuff. I don't know if the deals would be the same at all of them.
I've been to OUAC, but it's hit or miss. Found some good stuff on CL. Target has good sales, too. Can't wait for garage sale season again!
Also, go MN! We should have a June Moms GTG, maybe?? Even if it is just the 3 of us, ha ha.

Another MN mom- have you gone to the Just Between Friends Sales? There are some weekend. I went to one in Eagan a few weeks ago and pretty much have a summer wardrobe for my daughter.

We just had a huge consignment sale in our town. My DD has a ton of summer clothes but DS needed the summer stuff. I bought his entire summer wardrobe and an Easter outfit for about $70. The clothes were mostly Gap and Gymboree and in like new condition. I'm so excited esp. since DS is so rough on his clothes. We also have a Once Upon a Child but the prices there aren't nearly as good as at the consignment sale. Also I like TJ Max and Ross for girls clothes.

We are very fortunate that my mom LOVES to find great deals at consignment sales she goes twice/year to keep both of the kids fully clothed for all seasons! She really gets some great buys, a ton of brand names that are priced ridiculously cheap.

Ha... I've been buying her clothes since before she was born. I seem to have an addiction to buying her clothes.
I usually shop Old Navy, Gap, Target, Carter's and consignment stores. I pretty much never buy anything full price though.
