colscopy

I had an abnormal pap and have to go into a colscopy and have a biopsy done. Im worried if they do the biopsy its going to up my chances of having a miscarriage. Im 10 weeks. Has anyone else had this happen? Im really nervous about going thru this

    Yes, a colposcopy and biopsy do up your risk, but what is the alternative?  Potentially having cancer and letting it go untreated?

    I would ask to redo the pap again before jumping immediately to a colposcopy/biopsy.  I had a similar situation when I was younger and although I was not pregnant and had no side effects in my future pregnancy from the colposcopy, I wish I would have asked to redo the pap before doing a more invasive procedure (because I did not have any precancerous/cancerous cells...it was just a fluke).   

    Because you are pregnant, I would have them redo the pap and if you still have abnormal cells, definitely talk to the doctor about the risks of the procedure.  Sorry you are dealing with this...best wishes!
