2nd Trimester

Maybe y'all can help me out

Ok so the last couple days I get this little lump that pops up and it moves throughout my tummy. It doesn't hurt or cause discomfort to me, but I'm wondering what this might be?! I asked one of my friends and she said she thinks it's just the baby pushing up against me on that side. I thought maybe Braxton hicks? But from what Ove read is BH hurts.

Re: Maybe y'all can help me out

  • I have been having braxton hicks the past few days they aren't painful painful .. they just feel like my whole 'baby belly' tightens like rock hard ... then eventually releases. It's uncomfortable but not really painful.

When was your last ultrasound? I wonder if maybe your feeling the placenta or something. Mine is anterior for the front twin and I can feel it near my belly button. Or maybe the babies back is toward where your feeling.

I think the only way your going to find out is to see your OB and have an ultrasound.

  • I have a dr. App tomorrow but my last app he looked at everything and said if the placenta was in the right spot. But I will have him check again tomorrow. I'm sure it's the baby pushing against me or my uturis moving. I was reading something the said I could be feeling my uterus move.

Whoever said BH hurts lied to you. They are not painful until the end of your 3rd tri.  I am 23 almost 24 weeks and I get them about twice a day sometimes more sometimes less.  All it is, is your uterus hardening and then releasing.

What you are describing sounds like the baby moving in there.  I get this sometimes as well.  I was actually laying in bed the other day with fiance and we could see his head/butt whatever large round part of him move from my middle to my left side then over to my right & it was a big large semi hard bump, that could be what you are feeling/seeing. JMO though.

My understanding is that BH feel different for different people. They're uncomfortable/painful for some, and others (like me) barely notice them. However, I agree that BH are not the likely culprit. BH affect your whole stomach and could not be described as "a little bump popping up." That would be the baby moving.

  • Thanks ladies. I only feel this little bump sometimes in the days and sometimes I am lucky to feel little thumps. I think you are all right about it being the baby :)) this is my first pregnancy so I have many questions!
