Homemade Baby Food+Daycare

For those of you who make your own baby food and take it to dc, how do they warm it up or serve it to LO?

I plan on bringing homemade rice cereal after DD starts it at home.  I plan on taking a thawed little cup of it to dc along with some bm for it.  I'm just thinking they can warm the bm and then mix it with the rice cereal?  Do you think this will work?  Any other ideas?  (And I've already cleared it with dc and they said they will give DD homemade food.)

TIA

  • I think they always served ours cold.  I assume they do at least.  I send finger foods now that can be eaten cold.

  • When he was older and had more complex food, like pureed meat and veggies, they warmed it in the microwave.

I don't think they ever bothered to warm the rice cereal though.

We brought ours in as frozen cubes, so I assume they microwaved it.

  • I send baby oatmeal with fruit puree mixed in for breakfast.  I just make it at home before he leaves for daycare and by the time they give it to him, I assume it's still warm.  I make the oatmeal with hot water, not BM though.  You'd have to be careful with the BM spoiling.

DS's teacher did say that we can bring in a can of cereal and she can make it for him for breakfast, but I prefer to mix it up myself (I feel like it's the least I can do for him that day).
