2nd Trimester

5 foot tall moms (or around there), come in!

Does anyone else feel like their baby is sitting under their bbs? When I go to sit down for a meal now, I feel like I can't sit up straight because my little man likes to snuggle up really high and it feels like he's in between my rib cage.

I feel like it's wayyyyy to early to be feeling any discomfort.  I don't remember feeling this way, this early with DS.

I hate to see what I'm going to be feeling like come, 37-40 weeks.

  • 5' 0". I'm also short waisted so baby doesn't have much room. She used to kill my ribs. I couldn't even wear bras for a long period of time because she would push out. I found cold helped. Like an ice pack because it soothed the pain and she doesn't like to be cold so she would move. I am in week 38 now and she dropped weeks ago. Once she dropped, it quit hurting thank goodness!!! So in my experience, it got better, not worse.

  • Oh yes!  Same here.  I have been uncomfortable and out of breath way too early this time.  People are of course asking me if I am 6 months along.  No...no...just 3, but thanks!  Tiny torsoes have it rough :(

  • I am also 5 ft and petite but my LO is sitting very low, my previous pregnancies I had the same experience. My babies just like it low for some reason. So I am experiencing the opposite discomfort, I have severe pelvic and leg pain from the low placement...

  • I'm 5'2" and I really felt like that when I was pregnant with my son.  This time I feel like I am carrying much lower so she isn't right in my ribs yet.  My son seem to be so high the whole time and it was often more comfortable to stand than sit.
It took 3 1/2 long years, but we finally got our little miracle!

  • I'm 5'2. So far I haven't felt much, but then again the baby isn't that big. I fully expect to be in your shoes sooner than later. I'm already showing a lot for a FTM and I think it's because of my short torso.

I'm sorry. I hope you get some relief soon-- and if not soon-- when baby drops! Good luck.

  • I'm 5'2" and doing okay so far, but it won't last long.  DS and DD both pushed up into my ribs from about 28 weeks on.  So uncomfortable, I'm not looking forward to that!

  • I'm 5'0" and I've felt this since like 18 or 19 weeks. I asked my OB about it at my 20 week appt and she said the baby is probably kicking the organs that are on top of the uterus. I'm 26w now and it's gotten worse! Much harder kicks aimed at my boobs.

  • 5'2 and Today is the Second day my little man decided to hang out in the back of my rib. I am pretty sure he is stretched out cause I can still feel him in the low areas that he usually is so I  think its a foot in the rib! I am dying to get any advice on how to make him move but I know he doesnt have much room in my short torso...

  • I have the opposite problem- my baby is sitting really, really low! She is fairly uncomfortable at times.
  • I'm 5'3 and when I sit down on hard services it feels like my ribs are gonna hit my hips lol I think it could just be the way the baby is sitting that day cause I don't always feel that way
  • I'm about 5'1 and my LO likes to sit on the right side and is low. I am also starting to feel uncomfy now.

  • Yes! I felt that way for the first time couple days ago. Like I needed to stretch out cause I couldn't breathe. Gonna be a looooong 3rd Tri!

  • I'm 5'1"--I feel baby way down low but I still feel like I can't get enough space in my whole abdomen/rib area.  I think most everything is going straight out for me.  I am going to topple over once I get close to the end!

  • I am 5'3 and pregnant with twins. I feel like they are in my chest!!! I sit up super straight too or lean way back. I too am terrified what its going to be like in a few more months! YIKES ..

I've had the hic ups on and off daily for over a month. The doc said its because they are pushing on my diaphragm!  Fun fun!  Also the heartburn from them pushing my stomach too really sucks!

  • I'm already starting to feel this way at 15 weeks! It also seems like my hips adjusting happened much earlier and more dramatically than my super tall pregnant friends! Like - 11 and 12 weeks and to the point of not sleeping at night. ALSO - super obnoxious that maternity pants are always WAY too long (but who has the energy to hem while pregnant?!) and that things I already had trouble reaching in the cubbards is even harder to stretch to reach now! I feel ya sista!

  • Also to add - going by what my friends have gone through I definately had the stomach in the ribs feeling after eating much sooner than my friends. There's just no other room for it with a short torso!
