Ladies with paraguard

Finally got my paraguard put in about a month ago. I just finished my first period with it in and omg! I had really sever cramping for 3 days. Its was also very heavy and lasted much longer than normal. Defiantly more pain and blood than I'd expected. 

I know these are all normal side effects, but I'm just wondering if it subsides at all or will my periods always be like this from now on. I know its probably different for everyone, but just wondering if anyone's periods got less.... ummm.... crappy lets say.

    I don't have one currently but I did before LO. I had it in about a year and my periods were starting to go back to normal. The cramps got better too. The first few months were a killer though.

    I'd been on the pill for several years before my iud so I was especially wimpy about having a crappy period.  lol.

    I've had mine since November and they are getting better. They are still heavy and crampy for a day or two now, but this is a big improvement from being like that for 9 days. My last 2 have been much better and I'm just starting this months and so far it seems like the last two. I don't know if it will get easier for you in a few months or not, but I wanted to share my experience in case it helps.
