When does the yelling stop??? N will just yell sometimes and I can tell it's a frustrated yell - like tonight at dinner. He was in his chair and just yelling and crying and I could not for the life of me figure out why. He had the same food I had but he kept holding his arms out like he wanted something and I still have no idea what he wanted. Or earlier today when I had to deal with something for work so I put him in baby jail for a few minutes. He was not 3 feet from me and just yelling his head off. I'm sure he just wanted my attention.
He'll stop that when he can talk, right? RIGHT?? It's just that yelling is his only way to communicate, yes? I really hope that it's not just his personality ![]()
Re: Probably a dumb question - re: yelling
I hope so!!!
C will just go "AHHH" at the top of his lunchs to get attention, then looks at up and claps - it's so funny!
Well at least there is hopefully an end in sight! I have started doing some signing for him and while he recognizes the milk sign, I think that's the only one and he's definitely not signing himself yet. I will keep at it though.
I finding that Sophia's attention span and patience for the high chair is limited to 15 minutes tops anymore and then she wants out which she signals by raising her hands and reaching for me. I don't give in immediately and that cues the yelling.
You may think this is ridiculous but I swear it works: She starts yelling and I say "Shh, inside voice" softly and quietly and I swear she drops her volume significantly for a minute or two. It's actually kind of funny. If I have to repeat myself a few times to keep the volume down and finish my dinner I'll do it.
