I just read this in an article. Pretty cool as I haven't heard of this being discussed AT ALL in the mainstream. It's nice for a celeb to bring some attention to it. Of course, most of the comments are about her being insane, but I love it!

    Good for her! My husband and I haven't told anyone we're doing it because people can be grossed out/judgmental. It would be great to see it become more mainstream!

    My goodness, you should read some of the comments people have made about this story. I was reading yahoo news and people are so ignorant. I get people not wanting to do this, but MOST of the comments are so misinformed!! People mostly compare it to cannibalism! Really?? I need to stay away from those comments. This pregnant lady is taking those comments way to personally! :)

    Seriously, with the "food" that's available to eat today, a placenta is the LEAST of anyone's worry. hahaha

    I'm doing it- I've seen it mentioned on a few boards- I think I did see it on this one, plus the 3rd tri board, and maybe on my April Mom board...

    Certainly helps when celebs share things like this to enlighten others. And the hell with the closed minded naysayers. Let them go thru PPD and see what they think about it then.

    I'm considering it too. It's just a little $$$$$. If it were cheaper, I'd do it without a second thought. I really am not grossed out by it in the least which surprises me. My husband is just totally freaked out about it, but it really doesn't phase me.

    How much is it in your area?  Here it ranges from $150-$175.  I charge $150 but give my doula clients a discount.
