What's a good nighttime fitted (that's not $$$$)

So I'm tired of fighting with the crazy ammonia issues so I think I'm going to sell my 1 bg, hh and fb and use the money (well supplement with) to get 2 fitteds for overnight. I know I could probably make them - the rrp pattern is pretty simple but I don't have a serger and in the end it would probably cost me as much to just buy them.

I'd love to buy some from a nestie but does anyone make fitteds or is it all kcks? Hmmm maybe one of glads all natural kcks . . .

What does everyone else use or recommend?

And now to figure out ds . . .

  • I use cricketts with a fleece soaker for dd1.

  • I have used Rock Star Babywear. ?They get us through the night. ?But they aren't?necessarily?a "night" diaper, so don't know if it will work for you as well. ?Her large custom is $14.50. ?She is super sweet.

  • I really like Crickett's and Ariana's Closet for nights... but since moving, we've been fighting the ammonia smell at night too.  I go back and forth between overnight pull ups and the CDs...  rrrr. Just seems I have to strip them ever wash if I keep using them at night.  sucks.  I miss my old town's water.... I had no probs using these and the starbunz aio at night.  (((sigh)))

  • i use green sprout nighty nights and wool with much success!
  • You can turn and top stitch instead of surging the edges.  That's how I make my own and really, I prefer that look.  If you want to make your own.

  • I second the green sprouts nighty night.
  • Just a thought - could you buy some hemp inserts for your pockets you already have?    The swaddlebee's ones I think are only $7 or so.  That would be less $$ than getting fitteds.

We used Thirsties fitteds for a while, they worked well, but DD has sensitive skin so we like pockets better.  I'd rec Thirsties if you are getting fitteds.

  • The thing is, for overnight I'd need at least two hemp inserts for each diaper so that's $28 for two nights. I can get a couple fitteds for that and I couldn't sell my pockets to supplement the cost. Plus I have a hemp insert and while it's not as bad it also gets a bit ammonia-y. I've read that's a common problem with multilayer hemp. I've thought about buying a yard of bamboo fleece and whipping up some inserts myself but I don't really like my bg and the hh isn't going to last him much longer so it just seems like the right time to switch to something compltely different.
