Hey there!!
What is your favorite vacation spot? Any place you can't wait to take the girls?
And what would you do if you won the lottery?
Hi all. My name is Rebecca. I am 26, and I have twin girls, Abigail and Lillian. I grew up in a tiny town in New Hampshire, and went to school in South Carolina at Clemson University.
I used to be a high school English teacher, but I am staying home with my girls now. I am also going back to school for nursing.
I love crafty things like crocheting and sewing (my sister just taught me how and I am addicted).
Hi Kelly!
My favorite vacations spot is Hawaii. I can't wait to bring the girls to Disney. I also can't wait to get to Europe. DH and I had a wonderful vacation planned to Paris a couple of years ago, but we never got to go because of the volcano in Iceland.
If I won the lottery, I would pay off my, my parents', and my grandma's mortgages. I would also take that Paris trip.
Are your girls identical? How did you take the news that you were going to have twins? Before you knew did you think there was a possibility of twins (because of fertility treatments or family history) or was it a total surprise?
We don't actually know if they are identical. Odds are they are not because they did not share a sac or placenta, but 1 in 9 di/di twins are identical. We would have to get a genetic test to find out. Everyone says that they look identical, but I think they look totally different.
I was really, really happy when I first found out about the twins. We don't have a family history of them and we didn't do any fertility treatments, so they were certainly surprising. I have to admit that after the initial joy of finding out that I was having two babies wore off, I started freaking out a bit (two car seats, two college tuitions, ahhh!), but I wouldn't have it any other way. I really love having twins!
What has been your biggest challenge with the twins so far?
What is your favorite thing about having twins?
You definitely need to take that trip to Paris & Disney!! DH & I went to Paris back when we were in college and loved it. We just got back from Disney with our twins and they had a BLAST!!
The biggest challenge with twins has been keeping an eye on them now that they are both trying to stand. I think they end up falling more than a singleton because I just can't play defense for both of them at the same time. Oh, and when Abby bit Lil was pretty traumatic for us all.
My favorite thing about the twins is watching them together. The cutest thing is how they talk to each other when they wake up from naps. When I go to get them, they are both standing in their cribs, looking at each other and babbling.
I really wanted to go to Paris. We knew we were going to think about trying soon when we booked the trip, so it was going to be our last big one for a while, but alas the damn volcano. Sigh.
I'm really glad to hear you guys had so much fun! I've been wondering how things went. I used to think that people who took little kids to Disney were nuts, and that I was never going to bring a child under four. I am really rethinking that now.
Who would play you in a amovie about your life?
In a montage of your life what theme song would you have?
