First with the good news, I woke up Sunday at 4:45 am to a BFP. I always thought I would scream or cry but this calm just came over me. I was nice and dark so there was no question. DH & and I are so excited!
And the bad news...by noon on Sunday I was not well. I couldn't catch my breath, was sweathing profusely, was ridiculously bloated, and just miserable in general. My RE instructed us to head to the ER. I've been in the hospital since. I have severe OHSS and dehydration. I had been trying to fight the OHSS for a week but it just hit me like a ton of bricks. The Dr originally thought my organs were beginning to fail but luckily that isn't the case. I'll be in the hospital until at least Thursday but am feeling much better all ready. I had 8 liters of fluid drained the first night and still have a ton draining. My RE has been great. He has continuously called and someone from the practice has been here 1-2 per day including at admission. They say that I am competing for the hall of fame. Hospital staff keeps stopping by to see the girl with all the fluid in her belly. So, I guess I'm kinda famous around here. I've already lost 15 lbs since I got here.
They won't do a beta right now because they said it will not be accurate because I am still so dehydrated which is a bummer. They did confirm that my beta was positive Friday though and my DH is bringing more pee tests tonight because I need the confirmation. My RE assures me this shouldn't affect the pregnancy and is almost a good sign of high HCG. He says that's the silver lining to this and I couldn't agree more.
Even though I'm sitting in the hospital I feel so blessed and keep trying to remind myself that today, I'm pregnant. I guess my point of posting this is to remind everyone that if your gut says there is something wrong your're probably right. I was trying not to over react or be a baby and I almost got myself in serious trouble. Thank God for the amazing ladies in this group who convinced me it was time to call.
Re: BFP & in the hospital (XP)
That is my biggest fear with all this IF treatment that one day its going to make me really sick but at least yours is bitter sweet.
Congrats!
Congrats! I'm glad you are doing better - I can not even imagine 8+ liters of fluid being drained - insane!

Congrats on the BFP!
So glad that you went to the ER and you're being well taken care of. That sounds scary with all that fluid.
I couldn't agree with you more about going with your gut about stuff like that. I think throughout the IF process, we learn so much about our bodies and have to be our own advocate!
Woah, I'm glad you went to the hospital. I'm THRILLED that you got a BFP! I know this will be it for you! I've been stalking you since you posted over on IF that you had OHSS. I'm so sorry to hear that, and hopefully you will be feeling even better soon. You're pregnant! Live in the moment of that, make the Drs worry about the fluid. Congrats, and sorry you are in the hospital.
Great news, but I'm sorry you're in the hospital!! Congratulations!
My goodness. What a roller coaster!
Congrats on the BFP!!!! They do say that pregnancy makes OHSS much worse. Unfortunately. But sounds like you are recovering well. 15 lb lost - my goodness!
