Do you like where you live? If you could move somewhere else, where would it be and why?

    Yes, I love it in MI. All 4 seasons and close to lots of water. Perfect.

    Not really. I thought it'd be awesome being close to family, but it's just far enough of a drive (8 hours) from them that it's more of a PITA than anything. Savannah is really pretty, but there's not a whole lot to do. I also can't stand living in the bible belt - you can't get anything done on a Sunday. Food is pricey for an area that's supposedly LCOL.

    If I had my choice of Army base, I'd pick Ft. Carson in Colorado. If the Army wasn't a factor, I'd be in Tampa, FL in a heartbeat.

    Yes - I have lived here all of my life. I love being close to both sets of grandparents.

    Surprisingly, for the most part I do like where I live. It's the next city over from where I grew up and when I was 17 all I wanted to do was leave. I went to college and didn't intend to move back. When I finishing my dissertation, I decided to write it long distance from school so I could live with DH who has tenure at his school and who owns his apartment. Before I moved, we decided that we'd move again for a post-doc for me. But now I really like it and there are benefits to living close to family and I have some friends I really like. DH now wants to move somewhere a bit less expensive. (Our area has the highest property tax in the country. A 2 bedroom house built in the 20s is about $500k.)

    Atlanta is ok, but our neighborhood is NOT.  H bought a bachelor pad fixer here with the hopes the neighborhood would improve, and it hasn't.  We would love to move out of state, Idaho or Vermont.  We want a total change of scenary, but it's a long-term goal (hopefully before Shiloh hits kindergarten).

    I am not a big fan of where we live.  We live in the town that DH grew up in, and all of his family is still here.  It's nice to have his family around, but I would like to be closer to my family.  Also, I don't really like the town itself.  I hope someday we can find jobs somewhere better and move.

    god, this.  Especially since they don't sell liquor.  I mean, they do, but only at specific locations and after specific times, EVEN THOUGH the vote went anti-blue laws in my area.  Ugh.

    TBH I don't like the south in general.  It is too hot and there are too many bugs.  I'd live within like 5 hours of NYC if I had my druthers.  Bleh.

    I actually really like it here. The only draw back is distance from family. It'd be so nice to have relatives close to help with the kids, and not have to drive 3-4 hours to all the family functions. We live far enough away that it's a PITA to drive there, but close enough that we're still expected to come to everything.

    We're hoping to be back in Omaha before Aiden starts 1st grade. It will put us a couple hours closer to the family, and I'll be back at my old hospital, which is much much nicer and pays way better.

    I live and work in the town I grew up in (actually in the house I grew up in), I really like it a lot, my family is close by and I work with them as well, it is a small town where everyone knows everyone, the one downfall is that most of my friends never moved back after college like I did, so there are not a ton of people our age.  DH grew up 20 minutes away so that isnt bad either.  We are actually moving soon because he currently drives. 1.5 hours one way per day to work so we are going to split the difference.  I am not really looking forward to it, but am still glad we will be in the same vicinity.

    I love where I live - it's my dream home (but needs some work :), in a great neighborhood on a cul de sac. I'm about 45 minutes from where I grew up (and where all my family is). I wish I could convince them to move toward me!! DH grew up in this town, his parents are walking distance from my house.
