Name association!

Hello everyone!  My husband and I are having a very difficult time agreeing on a name for our DS.  My husbands last name is George which has made the choice a bit more difficult.  He likes the name Luke and I am ok with it but prefer Lucas with the nickname Luke.

I need honest opions on what immediately comes to mind when you hear the name Lucas George or Luke George :)  I don't want to give away what I am worried about people saying!  TIA.

Re: Name association!

  • George Lucas!

  • Would that be George Lucas of Star Wars fame?  I am not a huge fan and thats instantly what I thought of.

  • I made the association before even starting to read the second paragraph. If you like the name, use it. If the name association bothers you too much, change it and consider Lucas as a mn.

  • I agree, George Lucas but that's only because you asked. If I hadn't thought about it, I wouldn't have made an association.

    This...

  • My sons name is Logan Wayne, I do occasionally get Wolverine Batman announced when we say his name, but thats mainly by my husbands friends. I dont regret using the name.

I like the way Lucas George sounds better

  • I instantly think Star Wars.

I think Luke George sounds nicer than Lucas George, anyway. Luke is completely acceptable on its own, and there are many more people named just Luke than Lucas with nn Luke.

  • The name Lucas George will immediately be associated with George Lucas and everyone will assume you and DH must be huge Star Wars fans.  I would go with Luke for this reason.

  • I like Lucas George but that's because it's my son's first and middle name (so I'm totally biased). We call him Luke and yes, we actually did name him that because hubby is a huge Star Wars fan. =)
