When will you try again?

I have 2 little boys and there is almost 3 years in between them.My littlest guy is almost 14 months. My period returned about 4 months ago and has been every 28 days.. This month I went a week over and took 2 pregnancy test thinking I could possibly be pregnant they both were negative ..My period came last back last night!!

We aren't actively trying for another baby but we aren't trying to prevent either..

I have to say I was kinda disappointed last night when it came back!

It would kind of be nice to have our next a little closer.. I do feel like if I tell my DH I want to actually try that he would think I am crazy!! But that leads me to my question.. IF you do want another baby how many years in between would you like them? Would your dh be on board with that!?

good question. My answer changes daily. When DD was first born it was never. Now it is looking like anywhere from 3 to 4 years apart, probably will end up around 3.5 years apart. DH is on board with this. I would love 3 kids, if we could afford them, which I am not too sure we could.

How is the age gap with your two?

I have no complaints about the age gap with my boys!! Holdyn was 4 months shy of turning 3 when Stratton was born.. He handled it so well.. I do think the age difference helped him.I think him being a little older made it easier for him to understand that mommy had to do certain things with the baby..He was all about being the "big" brother and wanted to help me out anyway he could and he still loves to watch over his little brother..

We will probably start trying next summer so 3+ years between. We might have done sooner if we could move earlier but I think that will work out well for us.

I want something that isn't possible haha Practically speaking, we'll try in the summer so the kids will be about 3 years apart. I would have liked them closer but I felt, and still feel, like I wanted all that time with Aiden first. In a fantasy world, I'd almost stop time so I could enjoy him for several more years before having another, but they still wouldn't be that far apart haha So we'll bite the bullet and go for it soon.

I always thought I wanted 2u2, but that already came and went. We're ttc #2 now, but I decided if I don't get my bfp this month, I'm going to take a break from ttc and enjoy my summer

I know what you mean about being disappointed when you get negatives when you're not even trying! I can't tell you how many negatives I got before we even started ttc again. Apparently my cycle is now something like 35 days, what a mindfvck it is! GL with getting your bfp!

I used to think 2 years apart would be perfect but now that they will be 3 years and 3 months apart, I think that is perfect because DS is so excited and is over being SO jealous anytime I hold another kid.

The boys are 2 years apart and it is a great age difference between them. Kelsy is 13 months now and we just started trying for another...hopefully it won't take too long, I'd love to have this one pretty close to two years apart from Kelsy.

We started "seeing what happens" when DS was ~21 months (back in January)... got pg the 1st cycle!!! GL!

DD will be two at the end of April and we are thinking of trying again starting around July this year. I'm planning to get my IUD removed in June or July and then we can start trying after that. We are thinking ideally 3- 3.5 years apart of these two. If we have a third I am thinking probably 2.5-3 years apart of the next ones but we will see. I really enjoyed getting to really see and focus on all the changes in DD without having a new little one on the way to split my attention and I just started thinking I might be ready for another in the last two or three months.

We haven't decided yet (if we will), but I'm going to propose June '13, which would put them 3 years+ apart.

I thought we were one and done. I was on BC when we conceived. I thought I was safe but I was on the light pill (POP) and I guess it failed. So now we will have 2 two years apart. This will be our last. Either myself or my H will do something more perm. after I have this baby. I am a firm believer that kids shouldnt out number the parents. 2 will be fine for us.

Its changed a lot since having ds. right now we are thinking to hope for a 3 to 3 1/2 year age difference... I had thought it woudl be closer, but I'm just not ready yet.. almost there though! so by late fall we will try again.

This exactly. DS was 2y9m when DD was born, and has been great. Zero jealousy, very understanding and helpful... much smoother than I thought it could be.

We pulled the goalie when L was about 10 months old, but since I haven't had a PPAF, the goalie wasn't really guarding a net.

We would have been fine with 2U2, but at this point that is out of the picture. We hope they will be less than 3 years apart, but with having PCOS, any baby is a miracle baby for us.

DH was not sure if he wanted another one for a while, but I think he's coming around. I'm going to bring it up again next month. I just started a new job, so I need to make sure I can take mat. leave/FMLA. I'm hoping we can start TTC around May-June. DS will be over 2yo by then, which is a little older than I'd hoped, but as long as we have a second, I'll be happy.

We wanted ours to be roughly 2 years apart, and they will be 26 mos.

Our reasons

- we wanted them to be close and able to play together

- we didn't want to get completely out of the "baby" phase and then have to start completely over

- I'm turning 35 this year so we don't really have the luxury of waiting a long time anyways!

The Cons:

- a newborn and a 2 year old will be TOUGH the first year. We know this and are scared! But I know once we get through the first year we will really reap the rewards.

- money - we'll have two in daycare at once, two in diapers, etc

It will be a while. Thinking to start trying Fall 2013. That will put me right at 35 for delivery. DD with will be about 3.5yo then. Looking forward to having these years as a family of three, but can't wait to grow!

Well we weren't planning on having anymore, but my post-pregnancy brain was really bad at remembering to take B/C and you can only chance it a couple times before BFP happens. So we'll be having our next baby (RCS at 36-37 weeks) just barely after our twins turn 2 years old. I'm totally getting the tubal ligation! I think 2 years apart will be nice for them growing up. My brother and I are exactly 3 years and 12 days apart and that was a good range too.

We don't have an age gap we are shooting for, but rather waiting until we have our own house & I have a full time job to be more financially stable. My fear is that by the time we reach that point DS will be 10!

DH and I both wanted them close on purpose.. 2u2 preferably. Didn't quite work out that way, but DD will be 26 months when this LO is born so pretty close!

We always thought 2- 2.5 years apart but I'm getting the itch. We talked about it the other night. DH thought I would want to wait to try until the fall, which would put them at least over 2 years apart. He agreed that if we got our finances in order (have to renew our mortgage and consolidate a home renovation loan) we could start not preventing/trying sooner rather than later.

We always said we'd start to try the month before DD turned 2 (this August), aiming for 2 yrs 8 or 9 mos apart and up. But, I'm getting the baby itch again, so now we say we'll probably stop preventing come June (only 2 mos sooner than original plan), and pull out the real "trying" guns come August if we don't luck out. It's still a min of 2.5 years apart, which I think is the closest in age that I could handle!

Initially I thought we were done after having LO and would be adopting, but that apparently wasn't in the cards for us. We will start TTC later this year sometime after July. Ideally I would like 2.5-3 year age difference. If I do get pregnant and have a second child that will definitely be our last.
