I just had my yearly exam and of course asked a few more questions about getting pregnant. Just a little history or my husband and me. We have been doing the "if it happens it happens" method since about July. We had a chem preg in Sept. and started charting my cycles in Nov., then started the OPKs in Feb.
Anyways, She recommended that I get my blood work done of course and then mentioned having an HSG test.
So have any of you had this test done? I've read a little on it and it sound scary and painful! Any advice?
p.s. They are going to have my husband get a count to make sure his counts are normal.
Re: Wondering...
I've done the work-up that included CD3 and 7DPO b/w, then my husband had an SA, followed by an HSG for me.
One thing you need to be careful about is insurance. The HSG is typically expensive (~ $1,000+), but the definition of the IF diagnosis code is typically 12 months+ if under 35 or 6 months+ if 35 and over. It would not be fun to be stuck with 100% of the bill unexpectedly.
I recently had my HSG, it wasn't too painful more so just uncomfortable and made me bloated for the rest of the day. I had a little bit of spotting as well but it stopped after about an hour.
GL with your testing!
