Hello there. I'm sorry to come here and sound negative but it's just the way I am with these things but I'm doing my best to think it's nothing. I have had nodules, a lot of them, on my thyroid and one is huge. I got two biopsies done, the last of which was 3 years ago. I did have an ultrasound 8 months ago. I just found something new though...a new solid marble and when I went to see my doc she said it's on my thyroid and I am going for a scan next week and taking it from there but she said most likely a biopsy will be done. I'm freaking out and explained to her my fears. She said it's understandable and rightfully so. She did explain that if that was the result---cancer (HATE that word) that thyroid cancer is highly treatable. Well I go on line and all seem to be treatable but there is one that is bad and not so treatable. I know...stay off line. Thanks for listening to my fears and ranting.....
Re: Thyroid issues anyone....nodules, cancer???
I have Hashimoto's disease. I'm also a nuclear medicine technologist and we do a lot of different studies for thyroid issues.
If they are concerned about the nodule, an ultrasound should be done along with a nuclear medicine thyroid scan. My grandma had both done recently and it indicated that she needed a biopsy. Thankfully, she doesn't have cancer. I hope you get some answers soon.
