Intro: Twins born at 33w2d due to Pre-E

Hi ladies -

I just wanted to intoduce myself...I had twin girls on Friday morning at 33 weeks 2 days due to severe pre-E.  They are in the NICU, breathing on their own, but A has already had a couple Bradys...they're telling me it's par for the course and not to freak out about it.  They're eating formula and collostrum through an NG tube...upped from 5 to 10ml and they're handling it well.

I lurked over here while on hospital bed rest and now here I am - you seem like a wonderfully supportive group  - I'll be asking lots of questions, so thanks!!

    Welcome! I had my LO at 28w4d due to severe pre-e. He is now a happy and healthy 13 month old. Bradys, Apnea spells, and desats are very much par for the course. The NICU is a roller coaster. I hope their stay is short and uneventful.

    ::hi gringa::

    Sorry you had to officially join us, but glad the girls are doing well. Brady's are scary, but yes, par for the course at their age. They will eventually grow out of them. Hope you are recovering ok and that the NICU journey is fairly short and uneventful!

    Congrats on your girls!  My V was born at 33w5 days due to severe pre-e.  She was in the NICU for 8 days, was 4lbs 11oz at birth and dropped to 4lbs 3oz.  She's doing fantastic now at 4.5 months actual.  There will be ups and downs but I hope your stay is short.  I'm glad your girls are doing well!

    Hi!  Welcome! Congrats on your little ladies!  I hope your stay in NICU is short - my little man Wesley was born 33 weeks 1 day at 3lb 3oz - he left the NICU on Saturday at 20 days and 3lbs 14oz.  The wires, tube, and the monitors are all par for the course in there - but I did find that being in NICU with the nurses really helped me to be more prepared for bringing him home! (as much as it sucked to have him in there!)  He was early also because of Pre-E and Oligohydramnios.  Keep us updated on how they are doing! And how you are doing too!!!!

    Congratulations! My twins were born at 33 weeks due to pre-e as well, and their names begin with A and L.

    It is great that they are both breathing on their own. I hope that you have a short and uneventful stay in the NICU.

    Congratulations :) My boys were born at the exact same gestation as yours, but because I went into PTL. Good luck with everything and yes, bradys are normal and will go away as they become older and stronger, but they still are scary. Just take it one day at a time!

    Congrats <: our twins had a similar story! We just got them home on Monday after 22 days (ethan) and 24 days (allison) in the NICU. It is definitely hard but your kids have a good gestational age, and they are girls <: Even though my Allison was petite she did well with the breathing! Ethan did well to but had alittle more issues with that than her. Definitely remember to take care of you too <:
