Itchy, pimple-like bumps in diaper area?

DD has had this off & on for a month or two now.  She has about 4-5 bumps that resemble pimples, but also sort of look like ant bites.  They are hard under the surface, and have a little pus in them.  She is itching them like crazy :(.  I would think that they are some sort of bug bite, but they are only in her diaper area, not on her legs, arms, etc.  I am also not thinking they are really diaper rash, since one is high at her waist band, two are on each side of her hips, one in the crease of her groin, and one in the middle of one side of her bottom.  I am really at a loss.  Various diaper creams are not helping.  We've been applying hydrocortisone & benedryl cream to help w/ the itching.  I googled yeast rash, since some descriptions said it could cause pimple like bumps, but her 'rash' part isn't that bad (on her bottom).  Any ideas what this could be?  Getting ready to call the pedi....

    DD has this too - I'm assuming it's yeast and I'm going to try some OTC stuff to see if it helps clear it up.

    Sounds like it could be staph too. DD is just getting over something very similar. Her pedi had her on an oral antibiotic along with a topical ointment.

    Could be yeast or staph.  DD had this and I took her into the pedi and they said it was a minor staph infection... kind of common being in diapers.  She was given an antibiotic and a cream which cleared it right up.  She still gets the occassional pimple and I just put the prescription cream on it and it goes away. pretty fast.  If the pimples keep multiplying I would definately take her in.  Hope things clear up soon!!
    Dx: PCOS/Amenorrhea/Anovulatory/lining problems. Clomid = BFN's. Lots of cancelled cycles due to thin lining or cysts. IUI#1= Follistim, estrace and endometrin = BFN IUI#2= Repronex, follistim, viagra suppositories and endometrin= BFN. IUI#3= Repronex, follistim, viagra suppositories, femtrace and endometrin= BFP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Isabella born in June via C-section!!!!! She is so incredible!     Thank you so much, ladies.  After several of you mentioned staph, I called the pedi right away.  The nurse said since they are crusting over/scabbing and hard to the touch, it could either be staph or impetigo.   We're taking her in the morning to get checked out.

    DD's did not have scabs/crust.. they were just regular pimples.  I actually question the diagnosis with her but the cream helped so I guess all is good.  Let us know what the pedi says tomorrow... I am curious.  Good luck!!
