Samsung washer help needed

Two years ago, we purchased a Samsung high efficiency washing machine.  I use liquid fabric softener.  I've noticed that lately, the fabric softener doesn't drain and just sits there in the little tray.  Then, every maybe 10th load, it will work.  I think maybe there is stuff gunked up in the tube that leads to the washer barrel?  I was thinking about running some vinegar through some empty loads...

Re: Samsung washer help needed

  • We are always running the tide washing machine cleaner, DH seems to think we need to fob this for the he washer. It's a power you put in where the detergent goes Not sure if this would work or not but might be worth a try

  • we just got ours a few months ago so this hasn't happened yet, but I would try the cleaning thing.  There is a self cleaning function on ours, but I can't imagine it's for more than the tub, but I don't know.

  • Run a couple of rinse cycles with vinegar in each of the cups. It will clean up the build up and clean out the drum too. I used to get this in my LG, but we've stopped using liquid fabric softener and most detergents. Have you tried wool dryer balls? They work really well, and if you like scent, you can still scent them.
  • I got my Samsung HE washer about 5 months ago and am having the same problem, so I'm glad you posted something.  I'm going to take PP's suggestion and run vinegar through it.  I will probably just stop using fabric softener too...I don't use it often anyway.
