Anyone use the Montessori bed/room concept with their kiddo? Did/does it work for you?
We are expecting our third and I'm contemplating a no-crib option for this kiddo. We did a crib with both our other kids, but I sort of like the idea of this last one having their own kid-designed space (we have moved to a larger house where they'll get their own room for awhile). He/she will be sharing our room and have a cradle/pack-n-play early on, but I was thinking of doing a Montessori room for their room when they move into their bedroom for night sleeping (around 3-4 months old).
Also, I was thinking a good compromise would be a mini crib that the kiddo could stay in until they were mobile and then we could transition to a Montessori bed. Anyone use a mini crib and have advice?
Re: Montessori bed or mini crib working for you?
Well, I'm doing the floor bed now with my 14 month old. I started late so I didn't do any of the mirror, mobile, etc but just plopped his crib mattress on a rug in the corner of his room.
I love it. I think he likes it too. For the next one (cross fingers), I will probably start the baby on the floor bed for naps while either co-sleeping (on a separate floor bed in our room).
