Is it too "out there" for a first name? Would it be better as just a middle name?
We are both part Norwegian... here's the meaning of the name
Odin is the name of the supreme Norse god of art, culture, wisdom and law who was handsome, charming and eloquent into the bargain. The name projects a good measure of strength and power and has excellent assimilation potential. Could be a possible alternative to Aiden?
Also, I was stuck on loving Braeden for the longest time, so maybe this is a good alternative??

Unless your kid watches Garfield, and thinks you named him after a stupid dog...
"Oh Great Odin's raven!"
Just because you have a bit of Norwegian hertiage, that doesn't mean a very Norwegian name is a good choice. Now if you LIVED in Norway, it'd probably be fine. But you don't, so I'd say use it as a MN or not at all.

It's too much. Way too much. I think of Odin.. the god. I really dislike it. It's like naming your child Zeus or Allah or just God. Over the top.
Sorry. I do really hate Braeden though... is there nothing else you and your H love?
I love it! Admittedly, I'm at least a little obsessed with mythology names.
I certainly don't think that giving a kid a mythological name is akin to naming him "God." And Odin, while distinctly mythological, is not in the same category as Zeus to me either.
You're probably not going to get a ton of them, so let me, at least, give you two big

I like this name! (mentioned it in another post today, actually) I know a little boy with this name, and it is cute on him. It is mythological, but not too bizare sounding, so it gets a pass from me!
Also, I MUCH prefer this to Braeden, which I do not like at all.
I like it! My son (Auden) gets mistakenly called Odin on a fairly regular basis and I don't really mind, ha.
