Sex question...

So, my little sis asked me if DH and I had tried since DS was born and I said no because 1, I'm afraid of the pain and 2, DS is still sleeping in our room. She said "so? he's a baby he doesn't know what's going on!"

So my question is, have you had sex with LO in your room?

Yup, obviously when she was sleeping though and thankfully we had a really good sleeper.

Same. Our LO will be sleeping in a bassinet in ourroom for a while. If we waited until we move him to the nursery it would be months before we have sex!!

Yep. I wouldn't do it with an older baby or toddler, but when they are less than 6 months, I'm not concerned about it. We slept in the same room with DD1 for 6 months and are still sleeping with DD2 in our room.

We haven't. I felt weird about it. Mind you, I also feel weird about it if the dog is in the room, and kick him out... I may just be extremely uptight. This is why they have angel care baby monitors. I can know he is perfectly fine from a room away Smile

Yup. We have a 1bd apt right now, so he'll be sleeping in our room for at least another 3 1/2 months. He was sleep and didn't wake up when we did the deed.

We haven't done the deed yet this time around, but with DD1 we did as she slept in our room in her crib for 19 months approximately. She is a good sleeper and never had any issues.

DH has gotten other things while DS has been in the room.

I think the hardest thing for me having DS in the room is that I would be focused on him and not on having sex with DH, which requires me to be an active participant emotionally, mentally, and physically.

Several times. We just make sure DS is asleep first. I was really distracted at first, but it's better than having him in a different room...that honestly distracts me more bc I'm constantly listening to see if he's crying.

Yes and DD is sound asleep. I did the same thing with DS when he was little as well. Both of my kids are awesome sleepers. I wouldn't worry about it so much because they don't know and won't remember. Don't feel guilty or weird, just do it lol!

we're the same with our pets. We usually kick our dog out and when we had our cat we never let her in the room, she'd jump on the bed and just lay there and it was weird lol

Yeah, he's in the co-sleeper next to our bed and will be until 6 months. It was distracting at first because he was a noisy sleeper but now that he's 3 months he is quieter (and staying asleep more reliably) so it's better.

Yes we always have sex when she is sleeping in the room. I wouldn't do it with her in my bed though as I've heard some co sleepers do....

Sex right now is really really painful. More painful than losing my virginity so we've only tried it twice. I hope it gets better. I've heard the more often you try, the less painful it gets so I've been trying not to let it scare me.
