Babies: 9 - 12 Months

I'm so sad! (re: The Hunger Games)

We can't get ANYONE to watch DS this weekend!!! We never, ever ask for our family to watch him (only my sister has ever watched him) and none of them can do it this weekend and all I want to do is go see the movie! haha I read all of the books not too long ago and totally hopped on the bandwagon. I'm about ready to go see it by myself and just leave DS with DH. haha : )

  • Is there a reason you cant leave him with your DH and just have a nice time? Thats what I would do.

  • I have a babysitter to go see it tonight.  Leave DS with DH and just GO!

  • haha I would, but DH really wants to see it too so I feel bad going alone! We'll just have to wait til we can get a baby-sitter, but I hope it's sooner than later!!
  • I would be going by myself to see it! We too have a hard time getting babysitters so I often head out to the movies by myself and always enjoy it. I say GO.

  • Ok, most moms didn't agree with me on the June board but we had the same situation (and have zero family to watch DD). We debated it a lot but ended up going to a late showing after her bedtime with her (put her to bed in her carseat at home and then went to the movie with her and brought her home and transferred her to the crib. We bought her baby earplugs (they go on the outside of the ear, not in) and covered her carseat with a blanket and she slept the entire movie. Didn't even know we left home! I went early and got seats and DH came right before it started with DD. We sat right beside the door so I could leave instantly if she woke up but it was no issue. DD sleeps like a rock at night though so it would totally depend on your LO but maybe that's an option.

Ill probably get flamed for this but oh well. We had never done nothing like that before but figured what the heck for a one time thing and it worked out perfectly. Our theater had a big open space in the far back for wheelchairs and strollers and so we had her stroller parked back there with us.

That's a great idea. Good for you. Flaming for that would be ridiculous. If your DD sleeps well like that then go have fun! DS wakes up at everything now, but when he used to sleep like that we would just go out to eat with him in his carseat, cover him with a blanket and it was awesome. No baby sitter needed and we had meltdown-free dinners : )

I think people who flame for that maybe don't understand that it's difficult for some people to get sitters. We have zero family nearby that can come on short notice (and barely ever when it's planned, and we just moved to a new area and I'm not comfortable with getting a baby sitter who I don't know that hasn't been recommended by somebody I trust).
