I have been looking into getting L in a tumbling class. They have a summer program, which I think would be a good start, since the cost is lower. Is it a waste of time or would it be a good thing for a 3 year to get into?
I think it really depends on the program. My 4 year old took a gymnastics/tumbling class and while he enjoyed it, I actually thought it was very tame and borderline boring. Meanwhile a 4 year old friend was taking a similar class at another location and she was doing much more adventurous and fun skills. Most places will give you a free trial class and you could go from there.
My oldest 2 kids did toddler tumbling classes started at age 2. DD loved it and she went on to do dance 3 more years and gymnastics this year. Its a basic class but helps teach/reinforce classroom expecations.
My 2nd son only did it a few months. It was too slow paced for my boy who is doing much better in karate (and now that he is older). I couldn't do the mommy and me portion of the class after I had DS2 with my NB and 4 year old needing attention to. MH could not watch them...
