2IF Weekly Update - 2/23/12

Hi ladies!

What a great week we've had here on the board. It's been a bit busier and we had a veteran member announce a giant secret! Welcome to all the new members!

This week hoping4more got a BFP! We could not be happier for her and hope the next 9 months goes smoothly for her and her surrogate. We are all over the moon for you! Congrats!

We welcome every member(graduates, current, lurkers, newbies etc.) to post an update each week. This gives us all an idea of where you are in your cycle or how you're doing. This is such a great place to meet other women in similar circumstances to share experiences, cheer each other on, get info and offer support.

A BIG WELCOME to all OUR NEW 2IFers!

Please post your update below Big Smile

Re: 2IF Weekly Update - 2/23/12

  • We decided this week to move on to IVF with PGD -- one round -- out of pocket $$$$ -- all or nothing :) When it's all over we will have either a baby or closure. If it doesn't work I am getting an IUD and we are DONE, moving on.

Waiting for my period so we can get started...

    wahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    ttc #2 since 6/09 ** au naturel (many months) = bfn ** acupuncture + herbs (many months) = bfn ** acupuncture + herbs + IUI (2 rounds) = bfn ** gonal f + ovidrel + IUI (7 rounds) = bfn ** IVF w/ICSI+PGD - all embryos arrested 4/28/12 GAME OVER ** image >

  • Update: 9dpt and still got a faint positive. I am 7dpo and plan on start testing on Monday! I'm trying to think bfp thoughts and stay as relaxed as possible.

QOTW: I just started getting obsessed with The Walking Dead. However, it is crazy intense and I can only watch it during the day. I am way too excited about Mad Men starting this weekend.

  • Update:   Waiting for a positive OPK...Clomid is really screwing up my cycles.  I keep thinking at least when we do IUI I know about these issues ahead of time.

QOTW: I watch Once Upon a Time, Parenthood, Switched at Birth, Whitney, and New Girl each week, and DH and I both watch Grimm, Bones, Fringe, Doctor Who, and are getting into Finder.  All my tv watching is done on Hulu and Netflix.

  • Update:9w5d today. Had an ovarian cyst rupture on Sunday.  The pain was by far the worst pain I have ever experienced in my life, ended up at the ER and after an excruciating  40 min drive there the cyst ruptured shortly after so I never got any pain meds.  Got to see the baby which was looking great!  Then on Tuesday I had some spotting.  Went to my OB, they weren't concerned saying my cervix is just really sensitive at this point.  She tried the doppler but it is so early she wasn't concerned she could not find the hb...trying to be reassured by the fact we saw it 48 hrs before.  First official appt with OB is on Wed!

QOTW: Recently finished Downton Abbey seasons 1 and 2.....highly recommend!  Other than that I love How I Met Your Mother, The Middle, Modern Family, Grey's Bethenny, and all of the Real Housewives.  I love tv a little too much!

  • I am 2DPO on my first Clomid cycle. RE thinks my body may be over maturing the eggs so I don't feel too confident for this month, but we'll see.

QOTW: Grey's, Private Practice, The Office, Modern Family, Ringer (even though it's silly) and Revenge are my favs. I'm also excited that The Little Couple just started back up. They are really sweet together and I just like them. LOL :)

  • QOTW- I'm watching Smash, Grey's, Private Practice, Modern Family, TM/2

Update- Had my annual/consult with my OB on Wednesday and it didn't go as well as I had hoped.  He didn't tell me anything I didn't already think he would, but he just wasn't as positive as he usually is, which I was counting on. Since it's been a year since my last m/c he really recommends another surgery, which I was totally expecting to hear. What I wasn't prepared to hear was SuperOvulation and IVF need to be something on our radar.  I'm very positive my endo is back, and I bet I've got a good size endometrioma on my right side.  He could even see some evidence of scar tissue on my u/s.  :( So, he highly recommended if this cycle doesn't work then we go for another surgery.  The plan after that is still unknown, but I'm assuming I'll be on Femara, and maybe we'll talk IUI then.  I'm CD 13 right now, will probably O on Sunday or Monday.

    GL to everyone!!

  • Hey ladies!

Update: 2 DPO on my second clomid cycle.  Started 200 mg of prometrium on the evening of O for the next 12 days and it's messing me up big time.  I'm not sure if I should cut back to 100 mg or what. They put me on it because of an 11 day LP last cycle.  Cycle #13 so I'm hoping this is it for us!

QOTW: I watch a lot of stupid TV, and read a ton of books.  Mostly catch up on DVR'd stuff, including Grey's, Bethenny, RH- all but Atlanta, those girls are annoying.

  • I still lurk on here quite a bit...probably the first thing I look at each morning and before going to bed...hopes it's okay to still check in...still praying for lots more BFPs in upcoming weeks...

UPDATE:  Not much of an update...after being released in to the world of other pregnant women I'm now in the "I hope everything is okay" phase as we haven't had an ultrasound since March 1...we go for our NT Scan next Friday...so nervous I'll go in and get bad news...but trying to think positive as we did see the heartbeat twice while still at the RE and I have only recently begun feeling better...with DD never had m/s...with this I feel sick 24 hours a day without actually getting sick...and heartburn is already here....def not complaining...and thinking symptoms are a good sign.

QOTW:  I DVR most of our shows...we don't get much time to watch...but we like How I Met Your Mother, The Office, Parks & Recreation, The Biggest Loser...and I'm a big fan of the DIY network, HGTV, and Food Network so will pretty much keep those channels on if the TV is on.

We LOVE when grads stick around! Please don't go anywhere!

This is exactly how I felt with DD. I described it as being "irpy" all day long. It was not fun.

Update: Thrilled that I O'd earlierr than normal this month, before DH goes OOT - thought this cycle would be over before it began because of his travels, but instead, everything lined up perfectly, even with the stomach flu being thrown in the mix.  Now 2dpo.  Whoo-hoo!!!  C'Mon 2012 Tax Deduction!!!

QOTW: The only show I watch is my guilty pleasure - Pretty Little Liars.  Everything else is just reruns or things I just happen to catch - or whatever DH wants to see!

  • Update: I'm on day 2 of meds for my stim cycle.  This is my second day of microdose lupron and dexamethasone, Tomorrow I add in menopur and gonal-f.  Thursday, I go in for another u/s and b/w, and they may adjust my meds, and after that it's daily u/s and b/w, until maybe 4/3, and then hopefully my trigger shot and an ER on 4/5.  Then a 1-2WW while we wait to see if anything makes it to blast and then chromosomal results and the stim meds start to clear my body.  If we get lucky and have anything to transfer, we are looking at mid-late May.

QOTW:  We DVR everything on DH's homemade DVR, only have broadcast TV.  The only thing we generally always watch the week it's shown is Modern Family for both of us, and The Amazing Race, Parenthood, and The Biggest Loser for me (tho if I miss it by more than a few days, I usually just read a recap, watch the end to see the "transformation" and then delete).  We DVR and get to whenever, if ever, Chuck (I know it's over, but still have the last 5 episodes to watch), Alcatraz, 30 Rock, Parks and Rec, Community, and Up All Night.  When these run out, I want to start watching Downton Abbey.

QOTD:  The only shows I regularly watch are Modern Family, Happy Endings & Southland

~after 34 cycles we finally got our 2nd little bundle of joy~

  • Update:  CD 13 - should O this weekend.  Had my follie check yesterday and I had two mature follicles at 18.  Doing femera and TI this cycle, no IUI since my HSG showed that both tubes were open (as opposed to last HSG only showed one with dye flowing through).  Amped up herbs and acupuncture this cycle as well.

QOTW:  Grey's Anatomy, Private Practice, Bethanny, Real Houswives OC.  We also have been into Friday Night Lights on Netflix and getting caught up on the last season of Weeds.  Can't wait for Mad Men to start soon!

  • Hi guys! It has been awhile! It's been a busy year! I am 11 dpo and I haven't had any spotting, none, for the first time in 2 years! I'm thrilled. It's giving me hope. This is my 2nd cycle taking soy iso. Last cycle I got the flu in the 2ww and when I stopped drinking my nightly wine, I didn't spot anymore, so I thought that maybe my wine was causing the spotting, but then this cycle I'm still having my nightly glass, so it has to be the soy. I have renewed hope.

QOTW: The Walking Dead is my favorite and I am super stoked about Season 2 of Game of Thrones starting up next Sunday. I could exist on Walking Dead, Game of Thrones and Big Brother. I also watch Prime Suspect, Criminal Minds, Unforgettable, Ringer and Discovery ID.
