Maternity tops are ugly!!

Man, I find the fugliest tops. I mean there is only so much you can find. And well I'm a cheap ass for not wanting to spend more than 20 bucks for a shirt. Motherhood is okay, sometimes you can get a deal but as far as I have seen horrible! My belly is pretty out there and I hate lookin like a balloon.

Yet I can find really cute tops and just get then 1 to 2 sizes bigger.

Anybody on my boat too?

  • Yep, been on that boat. I'm not spending more than $20 on a shirt I'll only wear for two or three months. I'll sew them myself if I have to. So far I've had to opt for regular tops that are made either with an empire waist or the baby-doll style and just buy them a size larger.

  • I personally don't get why they are gathered and loose in the back... my spine isn't pregnant, I promise.

Is this something I will understand later?

  • I hate the baby doll tops, if I wanted to look like I fat whale I'd wear a bikini top. I dont need some big a*s tent making me look worse. So I always just buy the regular tee's from motherhood. They work wonderful but my hips look horrible in them, I guess you cant have it all.
  • Same problem here. I just get a regular top a few sizes bigger as long as they're pretty long and stretchy.

  • Also, I have never been a huge fan of those shirts that you tie in the back. But mainly all mat. shirts have them.Ick!

  • I've found some basic tops and sweaters on sale at old navy and gap.
  • you need to go on ebay I bought all of my maternity clothing form there and they have better prices and a better selection that in regualr stores
  • I think you need to avoid the 'maternity' stores aka motherhood and mimi and all that stuff. I hit up Gap and Old navy and have made out well with getting fairly attractive clothes - not to mention I'm going on vacation so had to find some cheap summer maternity gear and EVERYTHING was on sale for under 5.00 (jean shorts for 1.97, shirts for 3.50, etc!)

  • Gap and Old Navy are both really cute but shop online you have a bigger selection...but I feel you I have no issues with pants but shirts are ug!
  • I've had the most luck at Gap Maternity. Some stuff is not that cute, but I like a most of their stuff. I've even found some great deals on clearance pants, too. I also found a few long sweaters at penney's that are cute and will fit over the belly.
