Not loving the Moby...suggestions please

I like the Moby ok, but am finding it is a PITA to get on and off quickly...also as she gets bigger (she is 11.5 lbs) it seems to stretch too much when I am getting it on.

DD seems to like it ok, but I think she would be just as happy in another carrier as long as she is on my chest (her favorite position for sleeping).

I used a Bjorn with my first DD, but would like to find a better option.  I have a Ergo which I love, but don't have the infant insert and really don't want to add anymore layers to my already hot blooded baby.

Any suggestions on a carrier that I can get on quickly.  I would prefer something with buckles, but am willing to consider other options if they are a good match.

Oh, and TIA!!!  :)

  • If you already have an Ergo, I would use it. Just roll up a blanket to use as a pillow in the bottom.

    This.

  • I didn't love the Moby when I first bought it but after I had someone from the Babywearing Internation group in my town help me with it now I use it everyday. I found that I was not wrapping it tight enough on me so when I was putting my LO in it was loose. She is 13 lbs 10 oz now and still love it. Also when we are going out like to the grocery store I put it on myself at home and then when we get there I put her right in and it is much quicker. For me it just took a little practice to get it down.

  • It needs to be tied as tight as a one size too small t-shirt. Once I figured that out I LOVED my Moby.

    Agreed, or ring sling.

  • Thanks ladies.  I think I am going to give a ring sling a try.  My SIL gave me her old one, so it was free- bonus!
