This seems like a silly question, but has anyone gone to a rock concert while pregnant? There is a concert I would like to go to coming up, and there is a chance I will be pregnant. I'm not sure if the loud music would be too much?
I have to be at shows pretty regularly for work (I'm an art/music journalist) and midwife assures me it's totally fine. Baby is safe and muffled in there. I do try to avoid overly smoky clubs though.
I didn't really go to a concert, but I went to games, where the songs and horns are super loud. I did however stop going after hitting my 3rd trimester. I wasn't concerned about the noise, I was just more concerned about being in a crowded area and not being very "balanced"
I just went to a metal concert the other day. I mainly hung outside with my friends who were going to be playing the show because I was a little nervous to go in. I talked to my friend who drums for the band and also has a 8 month old daughter and he said him and his baby's mom talked to the doctor and they told her the baby is well protected in there from the sound. And especially if you are only going to be a month or 2 pregnant, the baby's hearing isn't developed by then.
I see nothing wrong with going to a concert while pregnant. ESP if you're only in the first tri. Maybe rocking out at 39 weeks might be too much excitment but even then, at 39 weeks I'd be happy to go and hope my water breaks.
As long as you've had not health issues and are physically up to it (ie morning sickness, tired etc) go.
Hee hee. I went to an Incubus concert when I was pregnant with my first, at 37 weeks. I had a great time and oddly enough, hubby figured out that playing their CD when she was super cranky helped calm her down. I think as long as you aren't standing by a speaker or going into the mosh pit, you'll be fine as long as you can handle going to a concert (not complain about the loud music, people, being tired, etc.)
I saw Tool at the beginning of February at like 32 weeks (of course it was in a big arena, with seating, so standing and getting smooshed wasn't a problem). Just scope out a place where you can easily make it to the bathroom if you are in your 1st or 3rd trimesters.

I went to the WV State Fair and saw the The Band Perry at maybe 8-10 wks PG (I knew I was PG). My LO isn't here yet but I'm sure she's fine.
