Please share if you don't mind. Due to an accident I've been out of commission for a few weeks and my hubby has taken over most duties. It has been a big change for all of us. I also sense a sleep transition coming because getting to sleep at night has been difficult to say the least and he's been waking up 1-2 hours early also. He used to sleep a solid 11-12 hours so this is a big change for him. We tried going to one nap this past week and it has helped night time sleep but made day time more cranky. I'm thinking we should go back to 2 naps.
Right now he eats 3 meals a day plus often a snack. He has 4-5 bottles a day -- when he wakes up, before nap & bedtime and when he wakes up from a nap. Sometimes an extra (depending on his cues).
Should we start transitioning to milk at meal times instead of before sleep? I'm confused about this! He usually takes a few sips of water from his sippy after meals or if he sees me with water he wants some so I give him a sip. When do we start giving milk in sippies instead of bottles? Any help would be beneficial.
All of a sudden we have a very active crawler/cruiser who I can't keep up with. My baby is more mobile than I am! I'm feeling a little off-kilter thanks to this accident and I need some direction to get us back on track.
Re: 11 month old schedule
At 11 months we stopped giving DD bottles. Yes - it was tough since that's how she liked to nap. We also started to give her milk at her meals vs water to help increase the amount of milk she would get. The only reason I stopped giving her milk before bed was because I was worried about it affecting her teeth (could be off on my logic, but it made me feel better to brush her teeth, give her water, put her to bed).
I'm not sure if any of this helps. There was a week or so she woke up 1 hr early, but then she went back to her normal 12 hrs. It could have been because of growth spurts or teething though.
GL and I hope your recovery is going well.
6:30am DS gets up and eats breakfast and has a sippy of milk.
9:30 am nap time (for Dad and baby most days)
10:30 am wake up and snack
12 noon lunch and sippy of milk
2:30 nap time
3:30 snack
5:30 dinner with Mom and Dad
8pm bedtime
DS usually nurses before bed. He might have a sippy of water before morning nap or in the afternoon. It depends on his cues.
