Gave my LO his first [umped bottle this evening. He drank two oz. in 7 minutes with the breast flow slow flow nipple. Some milk got trapped in the nipple (two part nipple). Is all this normal or should I try a different bottle?
it happens to us all the time..the instructions say to squeeze the sides of the clear nipple and the milk goes back down into the bottle. works for us!
Yes, it is normal. It is supposed to be like that because the nipple is supposed to be exactly like drinking from the breast. Just as PP said just squeeze the sides and it will go back in.
Hated that bottle. Actually hated the nipple which is why I bought them. It leaked everywhere. It is normal for the milk to get trapped in the outer nipple. Squeezing the "tabs" helps release it back in the bottle. But for us when I turned it back up (to finish it) it would get trapped again. I never got the nipple emptied completely for her. The best I could do was stop feeding, turn it upside down and hold it almost upside for her to get as much as possible. Too much trouble for me.
Yes it is normal. Some of the milk goes into that part before the baby finished it. As PP said it will go back into the bottle. We loved these bottles. Cleaning 2 parts is a bad, but we just washed in the top rack of the dishwasher.
