How long after your loss did you wait before trying again?

I know there is a m/c board, but I was just wondering how you guys felt about it.

My doctor said he recommended 2 cycles to let me "emotionally heal". He said physically I was fine.

I'm trying really hard not to temp or OPK, but I definitely don't feel like I can prevent. I think I would always question "what if" if we weren't able to get pregnant again.

Hi I usually dont post often. But I just wanted to share my experience. I m/c between my two children we were told to wait one cycle. If I recall right my cycles were just a little off. We waited that month continued trying about 2 month later I got a bfp. I will say I went the whole pregnancy thinking something was going to happen I couldnt let myself get attached because in my mind I knew it couldnt last. After I delivered her you would have thought someone just gave me a baby out of the blue. I wasnt prepared and I just couldnt connect to her. I was later diagnosed with PPD to this day I wonder if I would have just waited and a little longer could the outcome have been different. Emotionally it was too soon. HTH.

After my chemical my doc told us we could try right away. After my last miscarriage at 12 weeks we were told to wait one cycle.

Do whatever makes you feel most comfortable.

I hope it is ok that I chime in.

After my first loss, since it was a natural m/c my dr said we could try right away. That first cycle was odd and only 18 days. I ended up getting my 2nd BFP the next cycle. After that loss since I had to have a D&C my dr made me wait a cycle. It was a little longer than normal. After my chemical in October, she didn't say to wait at all and I ended up getting the BFP that is this pregnancy.

I am glad that I did temp and/or use OPK. Your cycles can be off at a loss. I would suggest that you wait whatever you and your doctor decide is best.

With my first loss I was 11 weeks and it was a blighted ovlum, my one dr said wait three cycles while the female in the practice said do not try but do not prevent. With my chemical pregnancy, my re started another cycle with me when I got my period.

Both of mine were very early no D&C I was done bleeding within 4 to 5 days and numbers returned to normal.

My OB said technically they say to wait one cycle because you don't know when you are going to ovulate so it would be hard to try. He said if we wanted though we could start trying right away which we did both times.

I'm sorry for your loss. It seems Drs really have varying opinions on this. After my first O was told to wait one cycle. That was OB A. I waited four because I was too scared. After my second I was told to wait two cycles. This was OB B in a different practice. We had a surprise pregnancy after one cycle and that was my first successful pregnancy. I had a third loss after she was born. Then at an RE he let me proceed with a low medicated cycle without even waiting. That, was my second successful pregnancy. I should add all my losses were earlier than six weeks.

I had a loss at 9 weeks and had to have a D&C. The doc told me that there was no need to wait, except that for the first 2 weeks after the D&C I couldn't have sex or even go swimming due to risk of infection.

I started temping right away, the first cycle I did not detect O and it was a long cycle, I think about 2 weeks longer than usual. Second and third cycles temping showed O but my hcg levels had still not returned to negative.

Fourth cycle I had negative hcg, I confirmed O with temping and had a +OPK, and got pregnant that cycle.

We did not TTA at all at any point, but for the first month or two I was an emotional wreck and I'm glad that I didn't get pregnant again that quickly. I don't think I could have with my hcg still elevated. I'm still a lot more nervous and emotional about this pregnancy, but it would have been way worse if I got pregnant again earlier.

We waited two cycles, which was probably good for me emotionally because I was kind of a disaster at that time. But, I've also regretted it, because the first cycle after was the only time that I ovulated on my own in the year since. I might not have gotten pregnant then, since I haven't gotten pregnant on any of my Clomid cycles, but, it still makes me wonder, what if we had tried.
