Just for fun- What other names did you consider for your LO? Did anyone change their LO's name at the last minute?
We considered Cecilia very heavily at the end, and Charlotte in the beginning. Once we found Emelia, that was it, though! I still love Cecilia, but it would be a little ridiculous to have girls with rhyming names. Ha.
If DD had been a boy, the name would have been Davis Christopher.
Preggers mamas, what names do you like now to go with LO's name?
Re: What did you *almost* name LO?
Good call on the rhyming siblings! lol
I liked Ian and Sean but Martin just fit him so perfectly. If it were a girl, I like Nina or Simone, after one of my favorite singers.
the second pick for a boy would have been Bennett Nash if he was a girl it would have been Harper Grace or Haven Reese
Ooh fun question!
We were going back and forth between Quentin and Enzo. I really like Enzo, but it's kind of trendy in France and we were trying to stay away from trendy names (I know, I know. We don't live in France, but there's a chance that we will someday and I didn't want him to be one of 5 Enzo's in his class...hypothetically).
If we had had a girl, her name would have been Tessa.

I think if he were a girl, there may still not be a name. We could not for anything agree on a name. And there was no back up on boy names. We knew before we were pregnant that he would be named for our grandfathers.
With this one, we have chosen either Ian Edward or Georgia Loryn
our boy name is William (Will) Frederick (its a family name).
I wanted the girl name Savannah, but I got outvoted since DH threw a bigger fit than I did
Our second choice was Marissa, but we both always knew she would be Macy all along
The other names I loved were Olivia, Lyric, and Ella. DH wasn't a fan of Lyric (I have had that name on my favorite name list since I was a kid!) and he thought Olivia sounded like an old woman name so he refused (I'm going to push for it hard if we have a second someday and she's a girl though). We ended up with Isabella because it was the only one DH was ok with (and his whole family is filled with Anabella's and Isabelles so it fit. I definitely made the bigger fit about names. I didn't like any names he liked at all. Luckily he decided pretty early that he would be ok with Isabella off my list so that was it!
Now, for boy names, we would have never decided! I love Irish boy names - particularly Seamus! Him, not so much. He wants to name a son Archer if we ever have one and I think I may let him have that.
I think I pretty much could talk DH into any name I wanted though if it was really important to me. I wanted us to agree but I think it matters more to me and ultimately I know he'd give in.
I liked Carys and Cora. H liked Kennedy.
Kendall was the only name we both liked.
Even before my dad passed away (16 yrs ago), I knew if I ever had a boy I'd name him James after my father
If he were a girl, DH was hung up on Mia; I would have pushed Cecilia (my mom's middle name).
A future boy would be Reid (my MIL's maiden name... yes, I like family names!) or, again, I"d hope to win with Cecilia!

Hey where did you get the name Briggs from?

Sullivan Fox & Oliver James (Yes, like the Fleet foxes song...) were our other two choices going into his birth. We chose Samuel Grey when he was 2 days old.
We found out we were having a boy, but our girls names were
Luna Monet & Nova Lenoir.

We really liked her middle name as a first name - Charlotte. But our last name is VERY long and we just felt like it was mean to make her write that much every time. Not that Avery is that much shorter, but it saves her 4 letters. We also liked the name Quinn - I know it's really trendy, but at the time we had no clue that Avery or Quinn was very trendy. Had I to do it again. I'd probably have pushed more for Charlotte since I know see how trendy her name has become.
We had a really tough time with boys names. My favorite was Nolan but DH vetoed that. The name that we could both tolerate was Ryan Conner, but neither of us was in love with it. So I guess that would have been A's name if she was a boy. Once we found out she was a girl, we kind of dropped the thinking about boy's names, so we probably could have agreed on something we both liked a little more.
The other girl names on the short list for Cate were Madeline Frances and Anna Marguerite (middle names are family names).
If Cate were a boy she would have been Raymond Edward Lastname V.
Have I mentioned how happy I am that I never had to fight with H about our boy name? The 5th?? Really?? lol My inlaws couldn't believe we were stopping at 3, they really wanted a namesake for my H.
Oh well!
We had decided on Oliver for a few days. DH's coworker's grandson was just born and was named that. We really liked the name but DH didn't want to 'copy' the name because they live in our neighborhood, even though we'd never met them. I finally convinced him that since we didn't know Oliver or his parents, it was fine to use the name. After awhile he decided he really didn't want to copy the name and suggested Isaac. Which was a very good thing because we ended up becoming good friend with Oliver's parents. And then another couple in the neighborhood named their son Oliver, and there's also another one at our daycare.
The only other possibility for us was Josephine (he middle name and also my nana's name)....her nickname would have been Joey--I wanted this ever since I was a teen watching Dawson's Creek
But Jeff was never crazy about it as a first name so that's why it's her MN...she can choose to use it later if she wants.
If she were a boy, he would have been Jack Henry
Our girl name was set as Emerson LaRae. We obviously had a boy. The first name we were set on was Wyatt Xander but then DHs cousin named her son Wyatt, so that was out. I really wanted to use the name Beckett Reid and DH wanted Reid Joseph. He wanted to use Avery as a boys name and I vetoed it because it was such a popular girls name.
Well none of the boys name fit. (Reid, Beckett, Lincoln) and DH thought it was a good time to bring up Avery. It fit and now we have a boy named Avery...I really hope he doesnt have 6 female classmates named Avery....thankfully Avery is not super popular here..
It was always a given that our first DS would be Christopher Roger. Named after my brother and father. I lost them both about about 7 years ago. DH loves Hunter and Gunner, calls them good hockey names..lol. I would never pick Gunner but if we are blessed with another DS we may go with Hunter Michael.
We didn't discuss too many girl names. I think I knew deep down that I was going to have a Christopher!
I just found it on some bab name book and liked it. I wanted it for his first name but our lastname end with a 's' so it didnt sound good

We were pretty set on Levi Harvey from about the time we found out we were pregnant. We also liked Joshua Harvey or Isaac Douglas ( will be our next son's name, if we have one).
If Levi had been a girl, his name was going to be Hannah Marlene (mn after DH's grandma). We both love the name Emily, but DH's parents have a dog with that name!
Arabella was always our top girl name, I've loved it ever since i read the pickwick papers and DH didnt mind it....close second was Temperance but we couldn?t figure out a good middle name. If she was a boy her name would have been Bishop, if we have a second i really hope we get to use it.
**Siggy Challenge What You're Looking Forward to Most after Baby Arrives**
Girl: Hayden Alexandra
Boy: Miles Merwyn (long time family name. Whatever, it's just a middle name)
Big sister meeting little brother for the first time-

Daniel Robert was Daniel pretty early on (like even before we knew for sure he was a boy) - but we also considered Lucas. If #2 is a boy he will be Lucas Michael.
For girls we had picked out Fiona Rose, which I still like but I don't think I'd use it if we have a girl later on. For a girl I'd really like to use Penelope.
For the longest time our top two names were Audrina and Kirsten (keer-stin). Still love both, but Callie definitely fits our little princess.
Drew or Andrew is my top choice for a boy and it's going to take a LOT for MH to win me over with another name instead. His top boy name is Noah. Not gonna happen.
