Is there such a thing as "too much school" or going to playschool "too soon"? My mom thinks if I put DD in playschool this September (she'll be 3 in October, and won't start kindergarten until 2014, two years away) that she'll have too much school and be bored of it faster.
I thought it would be a nice way for her to get interaction with other kids her age, not just her two younger siblings. And bonus, it's a small 2 hour break for me.
The classes would be two days a week for 2.5 hrs in the morning.

Re: Playschool = too soon?
It doesn't sound excessive to me, and I think the social interaction is healthy. I personally will be waiting to send DD to preschool when she is 4, but only because she goes to daycare 3 days a week and I know she is getting her social needs met there. I get what your mom is saying...I think there is such a thing as "too much school". But I think 2 days a week for a couple of hours is no big deal.
