Re: BF moms... bottles?
We use glass dr browns standard bottle and DH gives him one bottle each night at bedtime. MIL has give. Him bottles in the past when she watched him if I had somewhere to be. When he was 2 weeks old I had to EP for a week due to bleeding nipples. We tried a ton of bottles. We tried breast flow and found they leaked and we tried tommy tippee and he didn't like them. Dr. Browns even though the extra parts are annoying to clean have worked awesome for us. We did try the wide neck Dr. Browns with no success, so we stick with the standard in glass.
We use the wide neck Dr. Brown's bottles. We also used the breast flow bottles, but they gave DS lots of gas. We like the Dr. Brown's bottles.
I'm usually the one to give him the bottle, but if we're out somewhere with my mom, she will. DH hasn't given him a bottle many times bc we figure when DS is with DH, he'll know he's not getting any food, and when he's fussing, we'll know if he's actually hungry or just wants to soothe. When he just wants to soothe, he cries for me, but of DH takes him, he stops.
We use the Tommee Tippee bottles, they have been great for us.
DH has given him the bottle a couple of times, MIL does when she watches him, and my niece also gives it to him when she is with MIL. I've done it about two times when he was being really fussy and wouldn't nurse from me.
As many others have stated, breastflow bottles annoy me, the milk gets trapped between the two nipples, I too hate to waste that precious breast milk!
Medela bottles have worked ok, easy bc attach to PISA and less transfering and washing, however I feel as the nipples wear out quickly.
I have 2 Avent bottles, and I really like those, and DD sucks great out of them with no gas, a little pricey IMO, around 8 bucks a bottle, but I feel that has been the best so far.
Mostly BFing, but I am pumping to build up a stash for when I go back to work. We've only given baby a bottle a few times so far.
Anyway, for this baby and my son, we used Medela bottles/nipples and Daddy and the day care provider will be the primary bottle givers.
