3rd Trimester

I'm starting to think that it would be wiser...

if our docs told us that our due dates were actually at 42 weeks out.  Then we'd all be pleasantly surprised by our "early" or "on time' babies with alot less talk of induction!

But holy cow the 40 week countdown seems long enough already.  Still, the whole concept of "overterm" just makes it sound that much more menacing to me.

  • My MIL and I were talking about this earlier today. The same thing!! They should tell that you are due at 42 weeks so then you will be surprised when and if the baby comes early!

Good thinking...who can we tell to make this happen?!?!? lol

  • TRUE THAT! I would much rather have been given a later due date back in April then be sitting here, now almost to my "due date" twiddling my thumbs.....

  • Ooops Mod!  Well, then my post should say...I totally agree with what Mod said about this subject!  Heehee!

  • I think what got me was when DH and the Dr and I got so excited to hit 36 weeks after some PTL issues. From that point on, we've been hoping he'd take his time but we knew that if anything started again we'd let it go. So now I've been on eggshells (and having timable contrax that stop after 4-6 hours almost daily) for a few weeks. When he causually asked if I wanted an induction on Friday I turned it down immediately, but after two more days of contrax starting but not going anywhere, it's getting sooooo tempting. However, DH and I talked about it some more and neither one of us really wants to do it.
