Adding a Savings plan to baby registery?

Hello All

We will be having our baby shower soon, and I was curious if anyone knew of a way to creatively include an opportunity to contribute to a college savings fund. At the moment, we have a registery on Amazon, and a quick search didnt turn up opportunities there.

Has anyone else used this idea, if so, how did it work out?

Thanks

  • IMO it's never polite to ask for money as a gift. If people want to give money towards college they will (many people did when my girls were born) but it's really tacky to request it.

  • Please tell me this is a joke!
  • Asking for money for this will not go over well.

I skipped a friends baby shower because her invitation read like this:

Having a girl but no pink and purple

    Only organic fabrics

    no disposable diapers

    no pacifiers

    etc.

It's not nice to tell people what to buy for you.

  • Asking for money is tasteless. Take any money you receive and put it in a bank account. Voila. Savings plan.
