Bacterial Vaginosis

I was diagnosed on Monday with BV.  I had no symtoms, but had been checked out by my doc because I was having some pretty painful cramping and contractions.  They prescribed me an antibiotic and I started it on Monday.  As of today, the cramping/contractions/pains have not subsided.  They have not gotten worse, but they are definitely not going away. 

Has anyone else been diagnosed with BV in the 2nd trimester and had these kinds of symptoms?  How long did it take for the medicine to work and for the pains to stop?  When my doctor checked me out on Friday, they also did an ultrasound and confirmed that I wasn't dialating or anything from the cramps.  But now that this has been going on for 7 days, I'm getting nervous that it could start happening.  I know BV can be linked to preterm labor and even if its treated, PTL can happen.  So I think that's what makes me most nervous.  Does anyone have any advice?

    I was diagnosed with the same thing at 15 weeks. They gave me antibiotics for it and then it actually turned into a yeast infectionwe week later. I also had no symptoms but went in for spotting and they said I was probably because I had BV. I was also cramping but that only lasted a couple days after I started the medicine. 

    Maybe you should get a second opinion about this I can see that you are worried! How far along are you?

    Wow, I didn't even realize I didn't have a ticker on this board this time around!  I am 17 weeks and 3 days.  I am pretty nervous because these cramps/pain/contractions have no eased up at all since starting the meds.  I don't want to seem like a crazy person and keep calling the doc, as I have had SO many problems this pregnancy (m/s, vertigo, horrible constipation and acid reflux, etc... all requiring medicine!)  But this is just getting frustrating.  I don't know if I should wait another day or so, or if I should just call.
