TMI: Meds & Constipation??

This is kind of a TMI question and I am sorry if I gross anybody out.  For those of you on any PPD/PPA meds are you ever constipated from them??  I know it is a common side effect and my meds have really made this a major issue for me.  I have always been a constipated person in general...my mom even said as a baby, I was.  Now that I am taking meds they are making things even worse.

I've tried it all.  I eat a high fiber diet and drink tons of water, I've tried stool softners and now I am taking a probiotic supplement to hopefully help me.  Nothing is really working.  I am not ready to get off my meds or make a switch either b/c everything is working great, so I can't do that.  Just don't know what some of you all may do??  Also...should I call my psych or my gasterologist (sp) about this issue?  Help if you can.

    I can't switch meds either...the medicine isn't a typical antidepressant.  It is an antipsychotic.  It is given to people with bi-polor and schizophrenia.  I don't have either one of these.  Man, I can't spell all of these big words.  lol  It is prescribed to me in a 600mg dose to control my mind racing and help me STTN.
