I am starting to think about introducing solids to DS as he approaches 6 months and I'm looking for advice on how to make it work around daycare. DS is in daycare from 8-5 everyday. I want to always be the one to introduce new foods and ideally I would like to be the one to feed him any solids, at least until he is eating them for several meals a day. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

Re: starting solids
We started solids with DD at dinner time, that way we would get to do the initial introduction of foods. We did dinner only for about a month, and then did 2 meals a day (lunch & dinner) for another month, and then by 8 months, we did 3 meals a day. Also, DD never took to purees much, so we ended up doing BLW, and so by 8 1/2-9 mo she was on table foods and would just eat whatever they served at day care. For awhile I would send food for her, but, evenutally it was easier to just give her what they were already serving, and we never had any issues with allergies.
Also, she would get her meals in between bottles of BM while at school, as to not interfere with her BM intake (at first, anyway).
I'm curious about this too. I was thinking about doing dinner, but I've heard people say to avoid that time because LO might get fussy and react badly, and then the night is looming shortly in the future!
So now, I've changed to thinking I might start DD with "breakfast" after her feeding in the mornings on the weekend, then send food with her on Monday if all goes well.
Does this sound plausible?
