no worries on flying yet! However, once you get to be 7months some airlines require a waiver saying if you go into labor then they are not responsible!
I traveled 3 times during my first trimester and all was fine. My only problem was how I was feeling - I had m/s all day long and being on a plane feeling like you're going to puke really sucks. If you're feeling good then go for it.
Doc told me I was fine up until about 7 months and even then it was restricted only b/c if something happened, I would be away from my doc. No worries.
Will you fly during your first trimester? No, I'm making everyone fly to me. For work, all is done by conference calls. IOW, there is no need so I'm not. I did last time though.
What does your Doc think? Bon voyage.
Is there anything wrong with traveling too much? (i.e. 4 times in 5 weeks?) Aside from jet lag, fatigue of airport food and security lines, wrinkled clothing and the stench of cologne clinging to your clothes from the guy sitting next to you, no.
Ahhhh stop! I fly tomorrow! Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!
Whops. Sorry.
Don't tell the op, but flying is actually way safer than driving.
OP can read your responses. Just curious how others feel about flying. I'm down with flying, I don't have a choice. Its always interesting hearing other ppl's thoughts on the subject. Hormones raging today huh?
I flew during each trimester and had no problems. Once you're further along you probably want to request an aisle seat so you can move around if you want. I'll be flying on Weds, but it's so early that I'm still forgetting that I'm pg most of the time Happy travels!

For those that have flown already, what kind of snacks did you bring with you to make you feel better with the m/s? Same as other days or did anything else make you feel better? I will be drinking lots of Sprite thats for sure.
I flew this weekend, just got back this morning. Was a short 1 1/2 hr flight from NY to Chicago. It was not bad at all. I have terrible m/s all the time and it was not any worse on the flight. I ate before I go on the plane and had a pack of skittles (eating these two at a time slowly for some reason helps me) with me and I was fine.
I'm flying again on Wed, a longer flight to CA and am not worried about anything other than sitting in a middle seat for 5 1/2 hours but I'd hate that even if I wasn't pregnant.

Oooh stinky cologne! Didn't think of that, hahaa. That's bad no matter if you're PG or not. LOL

Yikes. I wouldn't. ?The plane will probably crash.
Ahhhh stop!? I fly tomorrow!? Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

?No raging hormones but appartenly the first tri is sapping your sense of humor. ?Anyone who flies frequently knows that its safe and what to expect when you get on a plane. ?As someone who flies frequently for work, if you are not familiar with flying (ie ask questions in line, take forever getting through security, etc) please drive.?

I may have thrown it up this morning.
I know we all advocate googling things before posting here...I googled and read way too many conflicting things...blood clots, increased m/s, yada yada. That's why I posted here. Ain't no thing but a chicken wing.
FWIW, I don't plan on not flying, I've got a bunch of trips lined up and want to be prepared for it and see what other people are doing to prepare...Being PG isn't going to stop me from racking up frequent flyer miles! I want a free post-baby flight to Vegas!

I'd bring sour candies. If you can bring a slice of lemon or orange (or ask the flight attendant for one when you get on board), pop that in a ziploc and you can smell that if you start to feel off (sometimes the scent helps). Be sure to eat something light with a little protein -- crackers and cheddar cheese or crackers and pb before you board. And ice cold coke, sprite, whatever works!

Now, I want sour candies now! LOL. I don't normally fly without bloody marys, so that will also be interesting. HAHAH.

What are your thoughts? It's too expensive.

I flew from London to New York and back again at 8 weeks, I also flew London to Las Vegas at 11 weeks and back again.
You're fine.
