Birthday party food?

What are you ladies serving at the b-day parties?? I need some ideas... So far I'm doing cupcakes, chocolate covered strawberries, and those pretzel, hugs and m&ms things. Do you have any suggestions??? Oh punch and water.

Thanks

Re: Birthday party food?

  • We're doing a cookout - hamburgers and hot dogs on the grill with fruit salad and probably macaroni salad or something.  That with chips and the cake should be plenty for us.

  • Our menu is super casual, think picnic. We are serving fried chicken, pasta salad, 3 bean salad and potato salad. And of course cake. I'll also probably put out some veggies, chips and dip.

    What are "pretzel, hugs and m&ms things"?   I'm quite sure I would love them, whatever they are!

    I put "Snacks and Cake" on the invite so nobody would expect a full lunch (party is at 1 pm), and we are having Boudin catering mini sandwiches, which come with chips, rainbow fruit kabobs (https://pinterest.com/pin/22658804345129838/), maybe another finger food, and cupcakes.

  • For apps we are doing a cheese/meat/olive/veggie tray, meatballs and a spinach artichoke dip.

    For the main event we are having grilled Italian Sausages (w/Sauteed Green Peppers and Onions) and Sahlen's hotdogs, on the grill.

    For the sides we're having 'cowboy caviar', cheesy potatoes and fresh salad w/all the fixins.

    For desert we are having a birthday cake (obvi), ice cream and a friend is making cookies shaped into the number 1. We will have sherbet punch and pop for beverages.

    Our families are big on food. I'm excited to chow!

  • We are having a tea party inspired theme at 1 PM so here is my menu...

    Savory: Mac n cheese cups, veggie cups, fruit salad, scones, cucumber sandwiches, pb&j, {maybe pretzel bites w/ apricot mustard}

    Sweet:  Mini pies, "eat me" cookies, Mad hatter cake pops, cupcakes, rice crispie treats, cheshire cat chow, petite fours, blueberry tarts

    Drinks: Iced tea w/lemons, pink lemonade w/raspberries, sparkling punch w/fruit, juice boxes, and "drink me" water bottles

  • Thanks ladies! Our party is at 2 so we're not doing a meal. Just cupcakes and sweets..

    Kimberly- you take square pretzels, put a hug hershey kiss on and bake in over on 200 degrees for 3-4 minutes. take out of over and press hershey kiss down with m&m and place in ice box for 10 minutes to cool and harden!!! YUMMY

  • Those sound yummy.  Thanks!
