DD refusing fluoride vitamins

My 3 year old has started spitting out her chewable vitamins. I just cant get her to take them. I called the dr who offered no advice. Do anyones LO take over the counter vitamins? We have her 1st dentist appt in a few weeks but meanwhile, I'd like to get some form of vitamin in her. Thanks

Re: DD refusing fluoride vitamins

  • Our son has only ever taken gummy vitamins.  We use fluoride drops a few times a week in addition to fluoride toothpaste once per day.  Your pedi should be able to call in a script for the drops (they taste fine.)

I didnt know they made fluoride drops. I'll have to ask the dentist about it. Thank u!
  • For vits, we use the gummy kind and then brush our teeth really well.  Why do you want to do fluoride vits?  So not needed if you use tap water unless yours has no fluoride.  You need to be very careful with the amount of fluoride kids are getting.

  • DD's dentist told us that if she is using toothpaste with fluoride then we don't need to give her additional fluoride drops or tablets.  Hopefully your dentist will have the same advice, good luck!

Thanks all. Our water does not have fluoride :-(
  • Not trying to stir the pot, but there is a lot of research that fluoride supplementation is harmful...many other countries ban it. I would stick with keeping it in the toothpaste!
