S/O water birth - A "funny" from my birth center class

Our birth center requires all of their expectant mothers and partners/coaches to take a 2 hour class to review their specific policies and procedures. On our outline in big bold font it states that men are required to wear swimming trunks if they wish to get into the tub. Apparently this was not obvious to one couple and to the surprise of the midwives and birth assistants a dad to be stripped down nude to jump into the tub with his wife. We were sternly told that "we are equipped to deal with naked women NOT naked men". This cracked me up.

I guess I can see the intimacy the couple might have been going for but it must have shocked the heck out of the birth team! :-)

    lol. I spent all of labour with DS1 in the shower at the hospital. As I was stripping down, my husband started to do the same. The nurse had a horrified look on her face when she walked in before she realized he was prepared and had swim shorts on under his pants.

    The last thing my dh wanted to do when I was in the water was get in with me, and I probably would have slapped him if he had. I needed my space.

    TOO FUNNY- I'm planning a water birth and although I doubt DH would consider jumping in my tub, maybe I should go over this just in case LMAO

    They emphasized the same thing at my waterbirth class. Apparently the same thing happened at my hospital! Ewwww! My DH would NEVER get naked in front of strangers like that, but I guess some just don't care!

    This was also brought up in my birthing class this past Sunday. The nurse teaching the class said she turned around and all the manhood was just out there. It was hilarious the way she told it.

    Too funny that others have heard this same warning. Who knew there were so many guys wanting in on the action?
